🔥 HOW A SCRAPE CAN TELL YOU WHERE HE SLEEPS.

Strip away, your gray light buck appearances and what do you have left?

Most hunters see a scrape getting daylight pictures and think: hot scrape. One dimensionally. Even if it’s gray light and not midday.

I see something different:

How close am I to his REM bed? 😴

📈 Fine-scale GPS work from Mississippi State tracked buck movement at tight intervals and documented repeated shifts between beds and movement throughout the day using the same bed after each mini-excursion to browse.

📸 That lines up with our internal trail-camera study—and with what we’ve been telling you for more than a decade. 👊

A mature buck doesn’t necessarily stay parked until dark. And if you understand that, a scrape camera starts telling you a whole lot more.

📍 60+ yards — 1 midday hit max
📍 - 40 yards — 2 midday hits
📍 - 20 yards — 3 midday hits

👉Those numbers are not a scientific distance formula. Of course, these distances can change with things like cover and terrain.

They illustrate what I’m looking for in my trail-camera data:

🛌 As I work backward toward the bed, midday appearances increase.

☀️ 🦌 That Daywalker hitting the outside scrape is valuable. But when cameras progressively closer to his bedding begin catching him again and again between 8 AM and 4 PM, I’m no longer just locating his travel route in gray light.

I’m closing in on where he is spending daylight.

🔥 And that’s the difference between knowing where a mature buck passes and knowing where a mature buck lives.

🎯 Find the Daywalker.
😴 Work backward to the REM bed.
📷 Let midday frequency tighten the circle.
🏹 Then make the first sit count.

Don’t just hunt the scrape. Use the data it provides to set up a One Sit Kill next year.

🏆 There’s only 1 book written for capitalizing on historical data and killing those repeater Bucks. The link is in our Instagram bio. 🔥

🔥 THE GPS COLLARS KEEP SAYING THE SAME THING. 🦌📍

September: ~400 acres
October: ~640 acres
November: ~1,920 acres

As the rut builds, a buck’s world gets bigger.

Some hunters see that November explosion and see opportunity. Others see unpredictability and excessive sits.

Neither is wrong.

But if your goal is fewer sits or even a One Sit Kill, November isn’t where to start. By then, the pattern is stretching, the range is exploding, and yesterday matters a whole lot less.

What keeps jumping out as we dig through these GPS-collar studies is how consistent buck bedding remains during October—and how often the researchers identify the pattern without fully knowing what’s driving it.

We’ve been talking about that overlap for years.

🎯 Bedding is still consistent.
🎯 His world is still relatively small.
🎯 But he’s starting to get curious.
🎯 Scrapes start mattering.
🎯 Daylight movement starts giving you something to work with.

👉 That’s the sweet spot.

And you One Sit Killers already know what starts pulling him out of the bomb shelter before the whole thing blows apart:

The early girls. 🦌🔥

The GPS data keeps catching up with what we’ve been seeing on cameras for more than a decade.

Capability varies from Hunter to Hunter and bow setup to bow setup.

But — no matter who you are and what you’re shooting there has to be a red-line in the sand.

What’s the farthest that you have killed a deer and what’s the closest that you have missed a deer?

Our 15,000+ followers know how to calculate the rut because we have given it out for free over the course of a decade. Nearly two decades if you know me.

There’s nothing better than getting messages from you guys telling me WHEN you will get your big buck pictures BEFORE you even hang a camera >>>> THEN IT HAPPENS!!!! 🤠🎱

👀 If you’re not aging fawns and still trusting the Internet and applications to tell you when to hunt OOF 👉 You are at a severe disadvantage this fall and it will cause you to do too many sits.

That is no longer debatable.

Using the 70 rule is a guaranteed way to reduce your time in the woods.

✅ Tested and proven by you guys 😏 👊

We are the original home of

• Daytime Deer
• Bucks that come back
• Aging Fawns
• Rut Timing

“The Pinch”

It’s exciting to see a very small and specific piece of woods come alive with deer activity. Using everything I continue to learn from @one.sit.kill and focus on browse, cover, daytime activity…it was only a matter of time before this pinch point started funneling deer. Wind and flooding rains pushed them to a deep cover and this scent rope I swear acts like a mile marker on the highway for them when navigating.

It was a waiting game but the timing is perfect. Weekend hunting is tough but still nothing I’d rather do in the fall.
