You only get one. What are you carrying?

There’s a reason I have different cutting and rescue tools on my medic bag. They overlap, but they aren’t there for exactly the same job.

Trauma shears for rapid patient exposure.
A rescue hook for cutting clothing, webbing, straps and similar material.
A multi-tool when I need more capability than a pair of shears can provide.
And a dedicated rescue/pry tool for problems that require something more substantial.

But there’s another part people overlook: accessibility.

A tool buried at the bottom of your bag isn’t nearly as useful when you need it immediately. Where and how I carry something matters almost as much as what I carry.

So I’m curious:
