After all the podium’s, he finally won his dream race 🥹❤️ 🎥: sick.wva Enric Mas secured his maiden Grand Tour victory at the 2026 Vuelta a España after years of close finishes, having previously finished on the podium as runner-up three times. Entering the race as a primary podium contender for Movistar, Mas demonstrated strong climbing form early on. The dynamic of the general classification changed dramatically during Stage 8, when race leader Tadej Pogačar suffered a heavy crash and was forced to abandon the race. Mas inherited the red leader’s jersey after stage 8 and moved into the overall lead heading into Stage 9. Imagine what he would’ve won if he didn’t crash … 💔😞 🎥: sacoche.jaune Tadej Pogačar crashed out of Stage 8 of the 2026 Vuelta a España while wearing the race leader’s red jersey, roughly 33 kilometers from the finish line. The incident occurred while the peloton was moving along a flat, relatively routine section of road shortly after an intermediate sprint. Video replays and commentators pointed to road debris as the primary cause. A large rock or obstacle was lying on the shoulder of the tarmac. While riding near the front on the side of the pack, Pogačar either directly struck the object at high speed or lost control trying to suddenly swerve around it, sending his back wheel into the air and triggering a pile-up with nearby riders. He landed heavily on his left side, suffering a fractured cervical vertebra, a fractured and dislocated collarbone, a concussion, and severe road rash. When Visma tried to stop Pogacar in a different way 😭 The incident occurred before the start of Stage 18 during the 2025 Tour de France, as riders were rolling towards the sign-on podium. Tadej Pogačar was cruising along on his bike shortly behind the Visma–Lease a Bike team vehicle. Unexpectedly, the car’s automatic emergency braking sensor was triggered, causing the vehicle to come to a sudden stop. Because Pogačar was riding fairly close behind and was not expecting a sudden stop on a clear road, he was unable to react in time and bumped directly into the back of the car. He hit his chin and dropped to the ground, but he quickly got back up and laughed off the minor mishap in post-stage interviews.
