This morning as I was getting ready to take Max to school, I got a phone call letting me know Nick’s plane diverted to Athens and he’d suffered a stroke. The man that makes my world go round. How could this be? We had plans to meet at flag football tonight and get chocolate milkshakes on Saturday and watch the Chiefs on Sunday. I felt overwhelmed and frozen with fear. Where is my person and is he okay? Why is this happening now? With the help of United, our incredible squadron, family, and friends, I’m heading to be with him at the hospital. My dad is taking care of Max and Moira while my mom holds my hand and flies with me to Greece. I don’t know what the future looks like. We’re taking it by the minute. I can’t wait until I can hold his hand and be next to him. I got to talk to him on the way to the airport. Hearing him say “lovebug” almost broke me and put me back together all at once. The joy and life that he brings to our everyday. He’s strong and we will fight like hell to get him home to his yard and his bees and his chickens.🥺❤️

Woke up this morning and there was no “Hey Fancy, could you…?” Life without a glitter-loving pint-sized bestie at your side is rather uneventful and freakishly quiet.😂💕🪩🦄

Upon learning the repair technician wouldn’t be coming to fix our AC again (we’re going on week 3 without it), I was on hold with customer service and my sassy sidekick (donning Jimothy jammies and rainbow boots) offered some comedic relief while standing in a pile of dirt. She blurted out, “Well, Fancy’s pissed!” I lost it.😂😆 About an hour later with Nick’s birthday cake in the oven, air dry clay creations spread throughout the kitchen, and a paper cutout fairy castle in progress, I was on hold again with another agent and summoned by a sparkly six-year-old to the entryway. “Fancy! Look!” I gazed upward to find handfuls of orange ranunculus petals sprinkled like confetti from the second floor onto my face.
