POSTS STORIES REELS

✍️🗓️COMING MAY 11, 2027!
I’m so pleased to finally announce a release date for my book! I had originally intended to publish it this fall, but this timeline will work better with all of the promotion and fun things I’d like to do!

What’s it about?

Every gift has a cost... Every god has a secret.

Odellia was born an Eighth. She’s spent the last ten years working off her indenture to king and country as an Ink Drinker in an antique shop. She can touch a bookand absorb the ink, and the knowledge that comes along.
Mere months away from the end of her service, and an official apprenticeship to take over the antique store she loves, an unusual book is sold to the shop.
When someone is sent to retrieve the volume, she accidentally Drinks it. The ink and words bleed into her skin, layers of a story she can barely begin to understand. Worse still, she’s consumed something that others are looking for. Something they’ll kill to have.
Odellia soon finds herself roped into a plot to overthrow the same corrupt system that sold her into servitude. Alongside a wry prince who hides secrets of his own, she must uncover the mysteries hidden within the book before they are caught.

But ink wasn’t the only thing to slip into her
veins with the book, and even gods keep
their cards close to their chest...

✨💖 An Important Note:
The Ink Drinker is an entirely human made book, no AI whatsoever 💗

Hi there! I’m Bee, a fantasy author absolutely hell-bent on writing bisexual girls going toe to toe with the injustices of the world. I’m currently working on publishing The Ink Drinker, a second-world romantic fantasy filled with dark, inky magic and a girl deciding to tear it all down. I’ll be sharing little glimpses of the book as I work toward publication. I’m so glad you’re here!

Tell me in the comments what your favorite animal is. Mine is a fox, but I’m also really loving frogs right now? This mug might have something to do with it.

#FantasyAuthor #AuthorIntroduction #AmWritingFantasy #Bookstagram #IndieAuthor by @oneliteraryfox

What’s a book that shaped your writing??

Every writer begins as a reader. 📚 These books helped shape me, each one introducing new concepts and story structures and variants in types of protagonists. All of these books left their mark on me in one way or another. I’ve written a book with footnotes, with demons, with animal companions, with library for a setting and explorations of religion and all-female hierarchy. These are books I can turn to time and time again for inspiration and enchantment. They are just as good now as they were when I was an impressionable teen.

As I write my first book in two years, I am reminded of all the little ways writing delights and changes me. The long showers while I work out plot holes. My characters going off-outline. The somewhat manic feeling of my brain being unable to focus on anything else. The notes-app full of little phrases and details for future scenes.

For me, writing a book is creatively all-encompassing. It takes every part of me, hammering and refining all of my ideas into this one expression, one story.

But at least I have dog snuggles to carry me through! by @oneliteraryfox

Last week I showed up for this book and for myself, putting in sprints every weekday! If I want a new book by the new year, I have to get 1,300 words a day onto the page.

This book has a 34 year old FMC and an almost 40 year old MMC. No one is wielding a sword. No one takes an arrow to the knee. But the stakes are as high as any adventure fantasy. There’s strength in quiet people, too, and I’m really enjoying writing it.

Who am I as an author? Well, swipe to find out!

Hi, I’m Bee. I’m a fantasy author with a book coming out next year. What kind of relationships can you expect to find in my stories? Wholesome ones. And by that I don’t mean “clean,” I mean they’re the types of love you’d want in real life. Not consuming, but patient and supportive and deeply passionate on a soul level.

I like a man you can trust on a dark street. What can I say?

What are you reading this fall??

If my book was feelings, it would be a twisty combination of rage and love. The love of an antique shop, of all the books and the jewelry and lamps and tea services within. The love of writing, of pen on textured paper. The love of knowledge, and the dangers of it, too. My book would be rage. The simmering anger at a system selling humans into servitude for the ‘greater good’. The rage at a king who thinks nothing of starting a war. So easy, to love and rage in the same breath.

This is the world of The Ink Drinker.

I haven’t been nearly annoying enough about LETTERS FROM THE LAST APOTHECARY. If there was a book of my heart that I didn’t actually write, this would be it. YOU’VE GOT MAIL but make it magical 💖 It has everything I love and more, and I absolutely demand you order it. You can do so wherever books are sold, but if you preorder from @bookpassage you get BONUS GOODIES.

Literally who doesn’t love bonus goodies?

✨Hobonichi Weeks✨ I’ve been trying to keep up with my weekly recaps in my Hobonichi planner! They’re not always top tier cute but it’s a lovely little snapshot of every week. Things I would have forgotten or glossed over come back in a snap just from looking at these pages.

My son got a thermal printer camera for Christmas and I bought extra paper rolls so I could use it. It’s so fun! I know the photos won’t last forever but the instant gratification is top tier.

Today’s #FridaySpark is GUARD. I’ve always loved this line from The Ink Drinker (chapter four!) where Odellia and her girlfriend are trying to reconcile their dreams for the future and they aren’t lining up. And swipe to see the first character art I commissioned for this book ❤️

The Ink Drinker is the first in a new fantasy series, coming Fall 2026.

When a girl who can drink books with the brush of a finger accidentally absorbs the wrong book, she’s roped into a plot to overthrow the same corrupt system that sold her into indentured servitude, alongside a wry prince whose blood is more curse than gift.

Good news! I’ve found my copy editor for The Ink Drinker and I am working my way through the book for the final time. It’s such a bittersweet feeling to know this is the last time I will touch this project, something I’ve worked on since 2022.

But I can say with confidence that I am proud of this book, and I am more excited than ever to release it into the world.
