POSTS STORIES REELS

The rarest 3rd generation Overseas Chronograph out there, and not too many people know about it, so time to change it. Not too long ago, @tim_mosso did a video on rare and collectible Vacheron sports watches and he did a great job. However, when he did not mention this watch, I realized he did not know it existed. So here’s me letting the world know of its existence.

Presenting Reference #5500V/110A-B433 Vacheron Overseas Chronograph "Latin America Edition" limited to 25 made. I came accross this beauty when I was looking for the black (B481). At first I thought it was the blue dial and the lighting wasn't good. Upon looking closer I noticed that it was actually a slate/grey dial with a forest GREEN ring around the second markers. It was hard to figure out what it was because even today, you barely find anything posted on the internet about this version. The watch came with a black rubber strap, SS bracelet and also with an amazing matching grey croc leather strap.

Here's what I was abIe to find thus far as far as information: it was made for, and sold in countries in Latin America, most likely in big cities and tourist towns. I have been offered 3 of these in the last few years and 2 had papers signed in places with tourists/resorts. One was sold in Mexico, one in the Caymans and one in Argentina.

I believe the watch was made for the Latin American market to celebrate the fact that Vacheron Constantin had been selling their watches there for 180 years. Maybe some Vacheron people can confirm my statements, and/or provide more information. Would love to find out more!

I’ve handled 3 of these this far, and I was able to figure out the sequence of case numbers and how they relate to the limited edition number. So if anyone ever needs any help authenticating I can help.

Finally received my first Vacheron Constantin Overseas 4500V today and it's a VERY special one :-)

Presenting the Limited Edition of 38, "Zurich Edition" 4500v/110a-B563. At the beginning 2022 I did not even know this watch existed. In March, someone at VC, who I now call my "consigliere" (thank you so much!!!) made me aware of it's existence, and the hunt began. I still don't have a whole lot of information on why this watch was made (occasion/celebration) and where it was sold. I've been told that they've been sold in North American boutiques as well as the boutique in Geneva. I think it was a Boutique Only watch, but not 100%. I also know that they did make a Limited Run of 38 Chronographs as well.

The case is stainless steel, and the dial is a silver sunburst. Where it gets interesting is the chapter ring and the rehaut. I THINK that the chapter ring is a VERY dark lacquered blue, and I am sure that the rehaut is the same blue as the 4500v/110a-B128. And just like with that model, this watch comes with a blue rubber strap, blue leather strap and stainless steel bracelet. Each case is numbered.

I was happy to find this completely new, never worn, still fully stickered. This will never leave my collection🙂

More info via @wind_2_unwind : “It was launched after the remodeling of the Zurich boutique which is located in 38 Bahnhofstrasse, which explains why the series is limited to 38 pieces.”

Last photo of the Zurich this week I promise. I put it on the blue rubber strap and it looked so gorgeous I had to photograph it after a long day. This watch was the first one, the first time, where I seriously considered not wearing it because of it collectibility. That thought fortunately didn’t last for more than an hour because what’s the point of collecting if you can’t wear and enjoy the watch. I will refer my kids to a good watchmaker that can service and polish my watches for them once I’m gone! 😂

Waited a little while for it but well worth the wait. This Vacheron Constantin Overseas Perpetual Calendar Chronograph #49020 is nice on the rubber strap, but it’s drop dead gorgeous on the leather alligator 🐊 ❤️
