Words cannot even begin to explain how it feels to have been a part of my 1st film project. I want to give a very, very special thank you to @alan_j_d for taking a short catch-up conversation during Supercon and turning it into an opportunity for me to join the crew. Much love, brother!

If you haven't yet, use the QR code to get your ticket to the premier on 10/17 in downtown Miami, and I'll see you all there! by @onenotearts

“Átaremma i ëa han ëa,

Linaria closed her eyes and breathed deeply, letting the tranquility of the moment settle.

“‘Tis done.” She closed her book, and a sudden feeling rose up within her, as if horns blared in a distance that only she could hear. The leathery texture that coated her gilded manuscripts rippled against her fingers. She listened intently. The time for ceremonial prayers and solemnity was done indeed. Hasty footsteps caught her attention before a familiar voice cried out to her.

“Lady Linaria! Lady Linaria!”

The confidence of 15 centuries adorned the timbre of her voice. “Yes, Alora. I am here. Have you a word to report?”

“My lady - the watch has reported pirate ships off the eastern coast and the entire city is scrambling for shelter while the host assembles.”

“Yes, the waves have already alerted me to their treachery. I’m proud that our training has not let us down after such a long time of not needing to use it. See to it that the vanguard meets me on the beach to welcome our guests.”

“Lady Linaria, please - you must take shelter! If something were to happen to–”

Linaria lifted a hand before her, stopping Alora in mid-sentence. “Child, heed my words and heed them well. We have not seen an attack for over 75 years - at least three times as long as you’ve been around to see this city. So, if our plunder-seeking neighbors need a reminder of why they’ve not lifted arms against us, I will be happy to entertain their arrival and personally show them what the High Elf of Nillaf'thyr is capable of.”

----------

Special thanks to @blissscos for joining me on this little adventure and making something beautiful with me!
Linaria is Bliss' OC, whom she so kindly volunteered for this project. It is such a pleasure to have been able to create with her again and I can't wait for the next time! by @onenotearts

It's very rare that I ever get photos of myself - let alone them being taken by a master behind the camera like @forcephotographs - but even rarer is it for me to see images of myself at work, in my element.

Y'all have seen it a lot by now. My eyes are closed, my hands are probably moving (because Hispanics can't keep our hands still), I may or may not be talking to myself about what I'm envisioning, and then all of a sudden - there it is. That's the picture we're going to make.

As a musician, I'm used to crowds watching me create. I relish being in that mental space, where improvised ideas take form and I get to make them a reality. When I'm in that place, everything else disappears. I'm running on pure instinct. On an instrument, my hands begin to move, but with a camera and a model, posing begins to take shape. I obviously don't see myself instructing as I do it, but I'm apparently quite animated and I love every one of these frames. 😂

A very, very special thanks to @forcephotographs for this gift. You have blessed me greatly, my friend. by @onenotearts

Latest finished piece from The Goddess, Vol. II featuring the beautiful @silent_scream_cosplay !

I love how this piece came out. The blanket of roses draped over feet is gorgeous and the hazy atmosphere screams divine femininity.

Be sure to check out my Patreon (it's free to join) for the complete 1st set and the only place you'll find in-depth BTS on how the project came to be, inspirations, added pieces, and art references!

"The Goddess" is an ongoing series of my own personal projects with the intention of showcasing storytelling via photographic art, featuring original characters with real life inspirations. Scenes are developed, planned, photographed, and finally edited with painterly qualities in mind. by @onenotearts

Remember when I said I've got photos going back a century? This is gramps in the middle of a random field, perhaps some time after boot camp, circa 1953.

The original wasn't in the greatest shape, so I tried my hand at restoring and editing it - a ton of clone stamping, lots of contrast, and some sharpening all helped to bring out what details were still there. It's not perfect, but it helped bring this image back to life.

Happy 4th, y'all. by @onenotearts

Guys, I did a thing...

I'm excited to announce the launch of my very 1st photo book, collecting my favorite pieces in cosplay! This book is very much a visual love letter to the amazing artists and crafters I've met so far.

I've secretly been working on this for weeks, planning every little nook and cranny with obsessive detail - something I know many of you are quite familiar with. Hard cover only, the best paper and ink available, in the largest size possible. We make art 'round these parts, and we will celebrate it as such.

This is one of many projects in the works, so thank you again for your passion and your love, and I will see y'all at the next con! by @onenotearts

COVID almost took me out, so today I celebrate my 2nd birthday. I turn 5 today.

5 years ago today, I was lucky enough to get rolled out of a hospital. I still deal with the aftereffects, every single day.

Pretty much any physical activity makes me lose my breath almost immediately. Some days, I feel really close to what "normal" used to be. Those are few and far in between, though. On the bad days, my breathing is so bad that I can barely get out a whisper. On the worst days, I'm not making it out of bed.

Over the last 5 years, I've been a guinea pig. I've done every test they could think of prescriptions of all kinds, physical therapy, lost weight... none of it has done anything. I'm at the mercy of however my body feels when I wake up that morning. I'm the literal embodiment of "one day at a time".

But, today, I'm not telling you a story of someone who got sick. Today, I celebrate the gift of getting rolled out of the ER when so many others took their last breaths in it. Today, I celebrate life.

I thank God for every day that I'm able to see my kids' faces as they grow up. It's only my faith that has brought me this far. Some of you might feel a certain way about that sort of thing. And that's okay. This is just my story, after all, and, as adults, we can agree to disagree about a few things.

I'm just grateful for 5 years of life, and love, and laughter, and getting to practice and pursue all of the things in the arts that make me happy.

They say that art is what comes from the inside of an artist. It's not just something they do - they live it as much as they cherish it, and it's that same expression that makes them vulnerable.

So thank you to everyone for allowing me to be vulnerable with you. Thank you for the smiles and the laughter, and for being a part of this journey of mine.

Happy 5th birthday to me, and here's to the next 5.

Self-portraits, taken in-studio. Yes, that's a 6-string bass guitar. I've been playing since 2001. No, it's not a real Fodera. One day, I'll have money for a Fodera guitar, and I'll probably just go buy a Leica camera...or maybe a Hasselblad. 😉 by @onenotearts

Stills from the first set of The Goddess, Vol. II featuring the beautiful @silent_scream_cosplay as my model for my character Vanoris!

Vanoris takes inspirations from Aphrodite/Venus of the Greek and Roman pantheons, with iconography taken from her various depictions throughout history in paintings and statues. Stay tuned for more stills, and check out my community page on Patreon for extended behind-the-scenes coverage on inspirations and process!
