When I was little I was always chasing some entrepreneurial dream. I started going door-to-door in my grandparents' neighborhood selling from a magazine. As I grew up I transitioned to making and selling items, think jewelry and keychains. I love to create things with my hands.

When I got pregnant with our first child I knew I needed income while working from home, so I created, produced, and edited a digital magazine that was all about cooking from scratch like our grandparents. I did a lot of recipe development and counter-top fermentation. My partner calls them my "mad scientist experiments". He is always very dubious about them, but I haven't made anyone sick yet!

In 2021 I noticed I was getting tired more easily, all the time really. I loved aerial silk dancing and lifting weights. My performance became radically inconsistent. One day I could barely make it through the day and the next I would crush personal bests. It made no sense. Eventually I crashed... HARD. It has taken a long time, but I have actively rested, recovered, and systemized my way back to giving the appearance of being functional despite Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/ME, Hypermobile EDS 🦓, and POTs.

I am currently a homemaker jill-of-all-trades with two awesome kiddos that go to hybrid school. I also care-give for my in-laws. All this on top of surviving energy limiting chronic illness. Shout out to my fellow zebras and spoonies!

Each day is an exercise in putting one foot in front of the other and making the next, immediate best choice available to me on any given day.

Reading is my escape from the Void. It's the place where I can quiet my body and let it rest without feeling too guilty about the 10,000 tasks that *need* done and just won't happen today, maybe not even this week.

I'm excited to explore Instagram and share my book and life journey with all of you.

I received my first Book Box exchange through @coquichapter! I absolutely loved participating in the Halloween Boo Bookbox exchange (stay tuned for the boxing video to my buddy).

She does it again!

In the next installment of Hercules Must Die, Infinite Rage by Eliza Raine, Lyssa keeps giving Hercules a hard time. He wants it to be easy to dominate the trials, but Lyssa will not hand over the wins without a fight.

Thank you to @elizaraineauthor for trusting me with an ARC of this lovely novel. I was hooked in book one and I continue to be hooked. Immortal Fury was my first ARC read so this series is special to me! The cliffhanger at the end of book 2 had me screaming out loud because now I have to wait. I look forward to Lyssa and her crew continuing to discover themselves and grow as these trials push them farther and farther… What does Alexios have planned and will he ultimately be able to follow through on his plan?

Do you like to laugh?

I have no idea when the last time was that I laughed so often reading a book!

Swordheart by T. Kingfisher was a delightful read with a sentient sword and a damsel who appears helpless, however, she is anything but. In fact, she intentionally weaponizes the act of being a stereotypical ditzy female to great effect.

I can't wait to pick up the second book in the trilogy, Daggerbound, to continue the lore of the world.

I love a good “why choose”, but…

I would be happy to pass on “October slide”, give me the book hangover any day.

What's “October slide”?

For many people with chronic illnesses (me) the season change can be a difficult time of year. It actually started mid-September this year in my area. The fluctuating temperatures, light changes, and barometric pressure swings can make us feel *really* extra awful.

Some days I feel poorly enough that I don't even really want to read. 😵

So cheers to book hangovers and taking an extra nap to satiate the “October slide” monster!

I asked each player to give me four words to describe them, and then after the session built a full story. For most games, I create versions of DM Notes as a thank you to the players. Often they are news articles or from the perspective of an NPC. This time I am having it be from someone who "uncovered" their story, and sharing their own dramatic version of it. Fun way to drop lore and have recaps.
