2 years ago TODAY, it started with one belief: Drive to be 1% better, every day. 🏀

Every rep, session and detail counts.

Since then we’ve watched over 180 players gain confidence, earn spots, level up their game and build habits that last well beyond the court. 📈

Today we’re reintroducing ourselves. Same standard, bigger vision.

This is One Percent Basketball. 🧡

To every player, parent, coach and partner who’s backed us: thank you for 2 years. We’re only just getting started!

At One Percent Basketball, everything we do is built around a simple philosophy.

Firstly and most acknowledged, we believe in getting just one percent better every single day — because small wins, stacked over time, lead to big outcomes.

We value consistency over perfection, knowing that real progress comes from turning up day after day, not chasing flawless performances.

We emphasise direction over speed, because building the right habits will always matter more than rushing the journey.

And last but not least, we teach our athletes to fall in love with the grind — to show up, put the work in, and grow even when no one’s watching.

This is what we aim to provide our clients and the wider basketball community: confidence, structure, discipline, and a mindset that lasts far beyond the court. One rep, one session, one percent at a time. 🏀

VJBL pre-season starts NOW 🏀🔥

New season, new standards. The players who take the biggest jumps this year won’t be the ones waiting for round 1. They’ll be the ones building better habits right now.

Here are 5 things every athlete should be doing to get 1% better every week this pre-season 👇

Small habits, stacked every week, turn into big results by the time the new year rolls around 📈

Which one are you locking in first? Drop it below 👇

Show up early
The best players are already on court before the session starts ⏰ Your warm-up is your first rep. Show up early, get your touches in, and be ready to go when the whistle blows.

Chase reps, not highlights
Trick shots look good on camera, but game-speed reps win games 💪 Count your makes, write them down, and beat that number next week. That’s what 1% better looks like.

Own it. Next play.
Mistakes are part of the game. How you respond is what coaches remember 👀 No excuses, no sulking. Own it, learn from it, next play.

Study elite standards
Don’t just watch the highlights, watch the habits 🎥 How pros move off the ball, communicate on defence, and prepare. Pick one thing a week and make it part of your game.

Recover like a pro
You put the work in at training, but you get better in the hours after it 😴💧 Sleep, hydrate, stretch. Pre-season is long, so look after your body.

1% better every day 🧡

A little look at what junior development at UAC actually looks like. 🏀💪

Our Junior, Intermediate and Senior groups aren't just different names slapped onto the same session.
Each level has its own progressions across both basketball and strength & conditioning, designed to meet athletes where they're at and keep moving them forward.

And the program is never “finished.”
We’re constantly reviewing what we coach, how we coach it and what we can improve. We use what we see on court, what our coaches are experiencing/seeing, and the feedback we get from UAC families.

Just like our athletes, our goal has always been pretty simple:
Keep getting better.

We’ve never gone backwards with what we offer our athletes, and we don’t plan on starting now 💯 by @onepercent.bball

The athlete who needs NO introduction… Maddy Rocci! @maddyrocci

From Canberra to Southside to Toronto and now now to Geelong, every stop has been a statement. Every league, every level, every team she’s touched has been better for it.

This is what a decade of relentless work looks like. 🏀💪

What would your walk out song be? 🤔🏀🎶 by @onepercent.bball

Nothing better than learning from those who are living it at the highest level. 🧠🏀 @maddyrocci

We really appreciated having Maddi Rocci in the gym and getting the opportunity to pick her brain about the habits, mindset and standards that have helped her reach and thrive at the professional level.

Being able to learn directly from athletes like Maddi and take those lessons back to the next generation of aspiring professional hoopers is what it’s all about. 📈

A massive thank you to Maddi for sharing her knowledge, experience and time with us. 🙏

Learn from the best. Pass it on. Keep getting 1% better every day.
