Hello friends,

I thought it might be time to introduce myself to all the new followers joining me here. I’m Jamie, the creative heart behind One Quaint Maison.

I’ve always been drawn to creating beauty in everyday life. Whether styling a vignette, shopping for antiques, or working in the garden, I find joy in the details that make life feel both personal and meaningful.

That passion led me to earn a degree in Home Furnishings Merchandising and spend many years working in both the retail and wholesale home décor industry. Along the way, I developed a deep appreciation for French antiques, European textiles, and collected pieces rich in character and history. In fact, my love for beautiful handwoven European grain sacks inspired me to teach myself how to sew.
Today, you’ll find seasonal favorites in the Handmade Collection of my shop, including grain sack pumpkins, Christmas stockings, and other handmade homewares, all designed and made by moi.

Outside of decorating, I’ve always had a love for nature. My mom has a degree in botany, and I grew up with my hands in the dirt, learning about plants and gardening from an early age. These days, you’ll often find me tending my cottage garden or wandering through a garden center in search of the next plant to bring home.

When I’m not creating, gardening, or antique shopping, I’m usually curled up with my cats and a good book. If you’ve been following along for a while, you’ve probably met my two tuxedo cat sisters, Willow and Zebby, who occasionally make appearances in my feed. Thankfully, my husband has learned to embrace life with cats. This Texas girl never imagined she’d fall in love with a boy from New Orleans who wasn’t a cat person, but over the past 18 years he’s become both a cat convert and my biggest supporter. I’m grateful every day for his encouragement as I continue building One Quaint Maison.

This week has been all about working behind the scenes on my website, with this little vignette keeping me inspired along the way ✨ Things are really starting to take shape, and I’m loving the process. As a creative, I find it so important to surround yourself with things that keep you creatively fueled. For me that’s layered textures, timeworn pieces, and yes… everyone needs a little coral and some sea fans in their life. Mine just happen to be purple, my favorite color. 💜🐚
