So far I’ve spent these few days in the city, in el pueblo, in el rancho allá en la sierra, but most importantly I’ve spent these few days with my grandparents. Life! Foster it and cherish the moments before your turn ends. 🤍 #MyLifeAt45rpm by @oneselfgallery

1965 / Check out this tripped out cover of “Scratchy” from Travis Wammack done by #LosHitters. They were a group out of northern Mexico as they hailed from the state of Chihuahua. This song on this 4 track EP is titled “El Ovni” which translates to The UFO🛸. My copy is a little beat but if you pay close attention you can hear some UFO thruster like sounds throughout the song when there is moments of reverb slapping back. I think that’s pretty cool! It’s a way out instrumental. Dig it! #DjOmarTheKid #60sInstrumental #60sGarage #FranticYouth by @oneselfgallery

•Children of The Night: The Visual World of #TheCramps• This exhibit opened up on Friday, 10/23 at @thepunkrockmuseum (That’s two days after what would’ve been Lux Interior 80th birthday). I was not able to go on Friday because of work and The Bomboras gig that I attended later that evening. They’ve not been in town in 20+ years, I wasn’t missing out on that! However, I did go check out this exhibit first thing Saturday morning. I went with two homies of mine and we beelined it through the museum and straight to this exhibit. We’ve all been to the Punk Rock Museum more than once so we skipped all the other displays and relics. This exhibit itself is so worth it to check out. I’m very bias in saying that because @crampsofficialvengeancerecords are my favorite band to this day but please believe me when I say that you must go while you can. There’s also some cool Cramps related merch at the gift shop including a limited run of numbered posters for the exhibit done by @jimhmadison @sicknik.productions, and of course; I got one (16/100). That’s my weekend highlight and confession of a psycho cat! #LuxInterior #PoisonIvyRorschach by @oneselfgallery
1965 / “Fine, Fine, Fine” is a Chicano teen rock record that bleeds into the #60sGarage sound with a killer guitar break at the 1:33 timestamp. There was a handful of groups back in the 60’s called The Atlantics, but these Atlantics were from The SGV; more specially from the cities of Rosemead and El Monte. These high school kids contributed to the East Side Sound Scene in LA for a short lived moment but they sure made their name. They released two singles on the local label, Rampart Records which is known for also pressing and releasing music of many other East Side Sound Scene bands of that era. The B-side to this 45” is titled “Beaver Shot” and it’s a cool r&b instrumental/northern soul joint so go give it a listen sometime too. Dig it! #DjOmarTheKid #FranticYouth #SixtiesGarage #60sRnB by @oneselfgallery

1965 / This is a cool 60’s Frat Rocker borderline #Jiver on the United label by a group out of Lansing, Michigan called The Saharas. Look at how cool they look in the photo with that C1 Corvette with the chick in the middle of the band. It literally screams #FranticYouth! This song is a quick one and how the title of the song implies, it plays WILD! The flip side is also great as it is a cover of a song from ‘59 titled “Debbie” originally cut by The Blue Echoes who were also from Michigan. Dig it! #DjOmarTheKid #60sFratRock #60sGarage by @oneselfgallery
