Hurricanes brewing in the Pacific Ocean, Santa Ana’s blowing’ hot from the North, triple digits over multiple days. Sounds like October in SoCal. Beautiful morning flight today, dead calm already 80° and climbing. But the skies were empty because it is the middle of the week, and the air was still calm and cool enough to enjoy. Now we will just hang out and watch the temperatures and the wind speeds climb, as @twoeleven_aviation now must wipe dead bugs off my paint. 👍👍

When you are a Red/White/Blue airplane with a 🇺🇸 on your tail, this is kind of your season, right? Yes, @navi_oneer77 was the first to launch dawn patrol from @cableairport yesterday, but we were second, more rested, and more cofee’d up. BEAUTIFUL flight over the still waking valley. Last night, the annual fireworks show in Upland, CA went off right outside my hangar as it does, topping off an epic day of U S of A flying freedom. 👍👍

Return to service flight after my 2026 Annual last week. Here, I show @twoeleven_aviation that I fly MUCH better when he keeps his hands off the controls, and his feet off the pedals. I received a clean bill of health, and required only a replacement ELT battery, the preventative replacement of my oil supply and return lines for the remote oil filter, and an oil change. Near max gross weight landing on @flabobairport ‘s grass. Mr. and Mrs. @twoeleven_aviation, plus ALL the camping gear (and plenty of 100LL) plop onto my L-19 Lady Legs, keeping my PAX floating smooth over the lumps and bumps, on a warm and breezy evening. No problemo. 😉👍

👈SWIPE!!! After nearly freezing his magnetos off for two weeks in D.C., and 4 cancelled flights home, @twoeleven_aviation took us up in the #socal skies to remind himself that while the cost of living here may seem like a rip-off, the weather IS included with every purchase, including 100 LL. 👍👍

👈 SWIPE!! @twoeleven_aviation looking into the soupy MVFR conditions over @cableairport that swallowed up most of the local airports Sunday morning. With visibility quickly becoming an issue, we chose to fly top-cover for the ground forces hiking the local trails out of Claremont, CA, before slipping back into CCB that was still reporting 6-mile visibility. But, with the mercury over 30 inches and no wind, it was at least a syrupy smooth battle against the evil haze/fog/smog machine, but alas, not a long one. ☁️ ☁️ ☁️ taken in Claremont 5 Mile Loop/ Claremont Wilderness Park by @oneseventytoo

👈SWIPE! Saturday was warm…on the ground. Enjoying sub-70° Temps at only 4,500’, with a ground-level haze socking in the entire LA Basin. Absolutely perfect flight, ending with butter-basted greaser of a landing, dead on centerline 🙌 (He got lucky). A bittersweet day with @aviatorgopher ’s going away party at CCB as he’s heading to a different country…He’s moving to Texas! Followed by one of the most dramatic, tense, and incredible baseball games ever played, as our beloved L.A. @dodgers completed back to back World Series championships…Barely! I love L.A., the flying has been amazing, but it won’t be the same airport without Daniel and Samantha around all the time. Happy trails, and SEE YOU SOON! 👋
