The Avalanches, Since I met You ❤️ For diggers, selectors, fans of the vinyl cut and paste game, never gets old.

Also dug out today my 12" Massive Attack remix of Manic Street Preachers 'If You Tolerate This Your children Will Be Next' (also has the David Holmes instrumental 12" remix on side A)

#thechurch los mejores momentos

Like randomly bumping into an old friend, core memories activate, teleported through space and time to a place, familiar, though different.

I've been a huge Church fan since my paisley vest and black suede winkle picker boots at 18 and when I saw this release recently I took a punt (never sure with coloured vinyl) and and just so pleased I did.

Under the Milky Way, Almost with You, Metropolis, Reptile, Tantalized, Electric Lash...

Closing side B with Two Places at Once I honestly had a tear in my eye and hairs standing up one arms.....

1995, Hyperlogic sampled U2 New Years Day in their track 'Only Me' captivating the rebellious seed in me that had germinated in front of speaker stacks at Love Dove parties on the rooftop of the old Kings Cross Hotel.

31 years on, here we go agaon for another run around the Sun.

Did you ever pick the genius of Andy Weatherall in his production work of Loaded?

Well known for his work producing Screamadelica for Primal Scream it was only during a random conversation many moons ago that it was pointed out to me the drum loop sample from 'Loaded' was borrowed from the opening bars of an Italian bootleg remix of the Edie Brickell and New Bohemians 'What I am' and once youve seen it, you cant unsee it.

Casting my mind back to 1984, when the world united for good.

Crazy few days here in Sydney, found myself humming this classic and the message seems to fit in a strange context.

Its always good to hear George sing about Xmas too.

Some records need no introduction, if you know, you know. If you dont, learn yourself.

This one drifted around for ages with me, then the movie @searchingforsugarman and finally seeing Sixto at the Factory Theatre 10 years ago.

RIP My old friend, glad to have shared my head with you today. by @onesmallbeing

If you asked me my #1 all time favourite song, of my more than 5,000 records, tapes, CD's, Stone Roses #mani #thestoneroses #lovespreads would be my answer.

That much of an impact, I remember the first time I heard it, driving back from the northern beaches of Sydney and having to literally pull up and write down what I had jist heard...RIP Mani by @onesmallbeing

10,000HP, 35 degrees, 1/4 Mile in just under 4 seconds, and the ground shaking, heart pounding , nitro smell that only a world class drag racing event puts in. Celebrating my inner Bogan in full effect. by @onesmallbeing
