One of my favorite things about St. Louis is how many different cultures make this city what it is, and there’s one weekend every year where you can experience so much of that in one place!

One World Fest is BACK August 22–23 at Mid Rivers Mall, and it’s a completely FREE family friendly event to attend

You’ll find authentic food, live music, cultural performances, art, fashion, local businesses, and experiences that celebrate communities from around the world 🔥

Whether you’re going for the food, the entertainment, or just to spend the day with family and friends, there’s something for everyone!

If you’re a small business owner, food vendor, artisan, nonprofit, performer, or cultural organization, they’re still accepting vendor applications for this year’s festival. It’s a great opportunity to introduce your business to the community, but spots are limited, so apply asap!

Save the dates, August 22–23, and tag someone you’d bring with you. I’ll see you there!

The theme for paye_taye Tay’s look was a William Morris–inspired yellow yukata, featuring a richly decorative bird motif that gives the entire ensemble a vibrant and elegant presence. ✨🕊️

For the obijime, I chose a gold butterfly design, while the back was styled with a purple ribbon bow for a graceful and feminine accent. The obi itself has a delicate silver shimmer, and I added soft pink tulle with a fluffy, bunny-like touch to bring in a playful sense of whimsy. 🎀🐇

The overall image was inspired by a summer Snow White—a princess in the forest, surrounded by a magical, nature-filled atmosphere. To enhance that impression, I incorporated animal-inspired motifs and added gently swaying floral ornaments in the hair as well. 🌼🌿

At the same time, I wanted the coordination to feel very ladylike, classic, elegant, and refined.

The combination of the William Morris–inspired pattern, gold butterfly detail, purple bow, shimmering silver obi, pink tulle, and floral hair ornaments created a look that feels both whimsical and sophisticated—a classy summer forest princess style that perfectly complements Tay’s graceful presence. ✨👘

Mickeymickmacpaddiwac wore a yukata covered in cheerful yellow daisies, paired with a delicate tsumami-zaiku floral hair ornament that gently moves as she walks. 🌼👘

For the obi, I used a soft, textured heko-obi and styled it in a fluffy ribbon-style Patapata-musubi. 🎀

I also added yellow lace as the obiage to echo the daisy motif, and shaped the obijime into a heart. 💛

Dizzy (@mitten.dizzy) is our cherished JIOSTL members and joins us for Kimono Club almost every month. ❤️

Dizzy always wears the cutest cat-ear style, so I wanted this coordination to reflect that playful charm. 🐱🎀

For the obi, I used a slightly shirred reversible obi and styled it in a light, fluttering Patapata-musubi. I imagined the layered folds as butterfly wings—a butterfly that a curious cat simply couldn’t resist chasing. 🦋🐈

Behind the obi, I added red and blue roses, creating a whimsical scene of a butterfly fluttering among the colorful flowers. 🌹🦋

A playful little story told through kitsuke—designed especially to complement Dizzy’s adorable style. 👘✨
