WHAT I'M LEARNING 3 MONTHS INTO ACNE TREATMENT (AGAIN)

🙇🏻‍♂️ 2nd pic: For a lot of us who might be caught up in unrealistic beauty standards, this might seem like a bad skin day. But to me (and probably a lot of others who have suffered from acne before), this is a good skin day.

🙇🏻‍♂️ It's now my 3rd month of acne treatment w/ my derm after getting bad mask-ne last December. Swipe and you can see how bad it got. Things changed for the better when I actually went back and consulted a board-certified dermatologist.

🙇🏻‍♂️ 3 months into it, there are only red marks (post-acne erythema) left. My skin is so much smoother. I used to have a big pimple every week. Now I'd only probably have one every other week.

🙇🏻‍♂️ I've definitely had my fair share of insecurities during this period up until now, but something I've come to realize is this: insecurity is NORMAL and insecurity is HUMAN. And it's what we do with our insecurities that matter. I choose to see my insecurities—and my skin—with love. 😌

🙇🏻‍♂️ #AcneIsAJourney and treating it is much more so. But it's not a journey you have to go through alone. Board-certified dermatologists are there to offer a helping hand, and other acne sufferers like me are here via support groups to let you know that it happens, and it gets better.
