Last night I found myself reflecting on the way I show up in my writing, in my journal, on napkins, on notes app, in life. My pages are filled with spirals, uneven lines, passion, confusion, an abyss of thought and flow and somewhat nothingness. DECONDITION YOUR WRITING, my pen screams at the world. Say it, SPRAY it, let it BREED, let it BREATHE. My writing, my play, my pen- a direct portal into the expression of a life I choose- the live I live- the life I breed, the life I breathe. A month ago, I booked a flight to Thailand. A leap away from my home, my van, my Taj, my human, my humans, my Australian self, my comfort and my safety. A familiar act, an unfamiliar place. Today I sit, in foreign cafes, in foreign communities, with foreign foods, and foreign routines. And all of a sudden, I can wander again. I can see, clearer. I can stare into my self bible, my magical book that gifts me space for all I need to explore. I stare into the pages filled with my uncontained and epically wild expresssion and I witness the mirror. The mirror of my life and my writing; my play, and my pen- becoming one. I understand and fall in love with the way I live in uneven lines, disrupted thought patterns, passionate poems and empowered protests- sentences that inspire and bring me back to life, a CPR of my own doing, a survival kit that I build and rebuild time and time again- I sit in a foreign cafe and I see my self mirrored in the book in front of me. And I wonder, what comes first- the deconditioned writing, or the deconditioned self ? Something to think about. Something to play with. (My passion exudes me. When will I ever dissolve?)
