This man. ❤️ I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to fully explain what it has meant to watch my husband show up for me and our family these last three weeks. Postpartum didn’t go the way we expected. Recovering from a C-section, bringing home a newborn to our already beautifully full house, having two babies 16 months apart… and then re-hospitalized after experiencing postpartum eclampsia. There were moments when I physically could not be the wife, mama, or woman who is usually accustomed to handling everything. And Demetrius stepped in and said, in a thousand different ways, “I’ve got us.” He has cared for me. Cared for our babies. Managed the chaos. Lost sleep. Prayed over me. Protected my peace. Picked up what I couldn’t carry and never made me feel guilty for needing him to. There are so many parts of marriage that nobody sees. It isn’t always date nights, anniversaries and pretty pictures. Sometimes love looks like seeing your wife at her most vulnerable and becoming her safe place. Sometimes it’s doing the next feeding, tending to the toddler, checking on the older kids, making sure Mama takes her medicine and rests, and getting up tomorrow to do it all again. Demetrius, I saw you. I see you. And I hope you know how deeply I appreciate the husband and father you have been to us during this season. ❤️ And today, the little baby doll in your arms is officially three weeks old. 🥹🤎 Our sweet Lennox Josephine Lynn. Our Lady Len. Three weeks of watching you love her — and watching her already look at her Daddy like that. 😭 God has been incredibly gracious to us. by @only1lashae

What ELSE could happen this week, you ask?! 😂💙 Deuce started 5th grade!! 📚✏️ And just like that, we’re officially in his last year of elementary school. 🥹 A very special shoutout to Grandma, his big sissy, and Daddy for holding it all the way down while Lennox and I were still in the hospital. They made sure my Sonshine was fly, had a good breakfast, and—most importantly—his mind and spirit were ready to walk into this new school year with confidence. Missing his first day definitely wasn’t how I pictured this milestone, but knowing he was surrounded by so much love made this mama’s heart feel a whole lot better. ❤️ 5th grade, here comes Deuce! 💙📚 Praying for an amazing year of growth, confidence, friendships, learning, and BIG wins for our boy! Our big baby has her very first apartment! 🥹🏡💕 Saniya B., I am SO proud of you. Watching you enter this season of independence, growth, and becoming even more of the woman God created you to be is such a full-circle mommy moment. And the timing of it all makes this milestone even more special. While I was in the hospital welcoming Lennox, our village stepped ALL the way in and made sure my girl got moved into her first home. I will never forget that. Thank you to everyone who showed up, carried something, put something together, decorated, organized, checked on her, or simply made sure she felt supported when Mommy couldn’t be there.
