First off… thank you to everyone who took the time to wish me a happy birthday. Every call, text, post, and message truly means the world to me.

I don’t take it lightly, and I’m grateful for every single one of you.

As I celebrate 27, I’ve been doing a lot of reflecting - not just on where I am, but what it took to get here.

My life was forever changed after my mom was murdered. That moment shifted me in a way words can’t fully explain. Every birthday since then has carried both joy and weight… because there’s always a part of me wondering how this moment would feel if she were still here. Not just birthdays but every celebration/major accomplishment.

But even in the pain, God has kept me.
He’s been everything I lacked - comfort when I was broken, strength when I was tired, and clarity when I was lost.
He’s walked me through the storms of grief, unemployment, shaky relationships, identity struggles, people-pleasing, and self-doubt.

And through it all, I’ve continued showing up as a big brother, a man, a protector, a provider - not because I had to step into those roles, but because it’s who I’ve always been. And by God’s grace, I’m still standing in them.

From discovering new passions (like pickleball 🎾) to learning what true presence and purpose feel like… I’m in awe of how God is still shaping me.

Today, I don’t just celebrate my birthday.
I celebrate survival. I celebrate growth.
I celebrate the God who keeps me, restores me, and reminds me daily:
I’m never alone.

Here’s to 27 - and to the journey still unfolding.
