Today I’m teaching Bella how to get extra treats. We just devoured some yummy freeze dried salmon, but mom was about to close the bag and put it away! 😱 So I showed Bella to sit nicely and do the worried eyes and forehead wrinkle, and what do you think happened? Mom felt impressed and guilty all at once, and we got more treats.

Job well done 😁

I want to introduce everyone to my foster sister Bella! She was just rescued from the Santa Monica animal shelter and is staying with us while her long term foster parents are out of town. She came over yesterday and we’re already friends. I’ve got so much to teach her about living the good life—treats, cuddles, play time, soft beds, and safety. Right now she’s still unsure about people and strange noises, but she likes me so I know she’s got good taste and will be okay. 🤣 She’s already got napping on the couch figured out!

Right now she’ll just be here for about a week but her fosters have some more trips coming up so mom says I’ll see her again! Hopefully she can find a happy forever home, but for now she’s safe and loved and that’s so much better than being scared in a noisy shelter. ❤️

Happy Halloween, everybody!

Today’s been a pretty good day! I had a long sniffy walk, and helped my humans carve some pumpkins. They wouldn’t let me eat the pumpkins they were carving, but I did get some pumpkin puree as a treat! It’s been raining here all evening so we’re not getting a whole lot of dressed up little humans coming to the door for candy, but I’ve seen some interesting costumes so far.

I also made a very special dog friend today, but I’ll introduce you to her tomorrow! Gotta go wait for the next trick or treater. I take my welcome/watchdog duties very seriously 🫡

I hope you’re all enjoying the treats, no tricks!

Happy Friday, everyone! It’s almost Halloween, so I’m spending some time with this early trick or treater 🤣

I’m so excited for tomorrow! Halloween AND I have a special visitor coming. I can’t wait!

Halloween is coming, and that means candy! Mom says I can’t have any of the stuff she has for trick or treaters(and has been eating 👀) but I do get to play with this guy! Apparently they call him Candy Corn? I still think I’d like sugary treats, but this is a decent substitute.

Is everyone else enjoying some pre-Halloween goodies?

This is my “what do you mean, stop pulling? I’m not pulling! I would never!” face? It’s good, right? You think mom bought it?

Also, if anyone’s missing a foot, I think I found it. You humans really do lose everything, don’t you?

Most days I’m not sure if cats are friends, toys, or frenemies, but when I was a baby I actually had a kitty sister named Darcy. I don’t remember a lot about her. Some days I don’t remember her at all. But when I do, I think of these things.

She liked to watch me while I slept, and didn’t like being chased. She didn’t get mad when I sat on the hammock of her cat tower, or chewed it when I was bored. She loved to sit on mom and my other human and make a very loud humming noise that they called a purr. She didn’t like to go outside like I do.

So when she did keep going out with mom in her little carrier, I was worried(and maybe a little jealous). She had to take medicines and didn’t want to eat, which was very weird because she was like me and loved food.

And then one time she left the house and didn’t come back. I was a little confused, but I could tell it was bad. My humans were very sad, crying a lot and using words like infection and cancer. I hate those words now.

I hope Darcy is happy, playing, eating, and pain free over the rainbow bridge. I hope she knows we still love and think of her(mom more than me), and that they still talk about her. I hope she knows that nearly two years later there are less tears but the sadness is still a real ache. And I hope she can see that I’m taking care of the humans for her.

Miss you, Darce M. Darce. ❤️🌼🕯️❤️

Monday mood: nope. Not interested in getting up, thanks. I shall nap on my couch. And my bed. And my mom’s bed. And then the couch again 🤣 Mom can bring me my treats and toys

Sophie and I might have played a little too hard yesterday, and I need to take a nap day. Tomorrow I’ll get back to conquering the world

Mom thinks she can eat a sweet potato around us without paying the tax? Ha! Never! We smelled it roasting in the oven for hours, we certainly deserve to eat some! Otherwise that would be torture and I’d have to alert the authorities.

Don’t worry, she gave in. And later I’ll give her the puppy eyes and get more 🥺

Today is mom and my other human’s anniversary, which I guess is like a human gotcha day? I don’t really know how it works, but she got pretty flowers and was greedy and only let me smell one. She was worried that I would want to play with it(I didn’t) or it eat(okay. I did. She stopped me. Sigh)

Happy anniversary, humans! You’ve both always been there for me so I don’t know any different, but I’m glad I have you both to do my bidding. I mean feed me. I mean I love you! 💕

Don’t know why mom insists on sticking the camera in my face when I’m trying to sleep, but apparently it’s interesting? I mean, the sound of my snoring is pretty cute. 🥰

Sweet dreams, friends!

Throwback Thursday to the most important day ever, the day I met my mom! Her parents came to meet me and my siblings to choose their pup, and mom came along to give her opinion. She had no intention of getting a dog at the time, but I knew the moment I met her. She needed me. I’d have a spoiled pup life with her. And her parents were going to have Sophie, so I’d still get to see my sister!

I climbed right into her lap and staked my claim. I knew falling asleep on her was the right move. It showed trust. It made her feel like my protector. It let me wiggle my way into her heart so that she was hooked!

Best decision ever. 💕
