located around mid-city, comedor tenchita is an operation run out of a backyard that’s only open on sundays. parking may be tight since it’s in a densely-packed neighborhood, but it’s definitely worth the hassle! out of all the dishes we ordered I liked the taquitos de coloradito and enfrijoladas the most—the coloradito is more savory than any other I’ve tried, and the enfrijoladas had some smoky notes I loved. I’ve been trying to get my hands on a $38 basturma sandwich from @yerordmasbakerydeli since my student recommended it, and while they’ve since taken it off the menu, their skewers were still quite enjoyable in the absence of the basturma. my favorite was the pork belly kebab! their chi kyuftah is also quite fun—I’ve never had anything like it before, and the bulgur pilaf is so decadent and buttery 🍽️ pistachio hummus muhammara chi kyuftah kebabs (leg of lamb, pork belly, hanger steak) bulgur pilaf taken in Glendale, California by @onlyphans.la

the lamb shank at @roshonabilashla is only $18 and the best lamb I’ve had in a very long time!
