I’ve been thinking a lot lately about the weight of getting older... The reality of becoming an elder that will eventually leave the next generation behind. I wrote 'Angels in the Sky' because we rarely have the tools to process that reality.
This video and this song are a love letter to my godson. It's a message I hope he can hold onto one day to find peace, and a reminder that love transcends time, and hopefully grief.

There is no blueprint for loss.
We all know it is a part of the human experience, yet when it actually arrives, it leaves us completely disoriented.
I originally wrote 'Angels in the Sky' after losing my cousin. But as I watched so much grief around me in the time since — losing a father figure, seeing my community navigate their own heavy goodbyes — I realized how unprepared we all are for the weight of it.
Grief can be such a bleak, isolating place to be in. I wanted this song to be a light in that dark space. A message of comfort spoken directly from the people who had to leave us behind.

Also wanted to acknowledge everything and everyone who contributed to making my 28th year so beautiful and memorable 🤗. This year has taught me so much about myself that I'm still unpacking. Through both the good and the bad, I'm so grateful to everyone who has stuck with me as I've navigated through it all. I know I can be challenging at times... From my hard-headedness to my appalling response times, and my many other flaws 😅. But to those of you who chose to see the best in me this past year and to continuously speak life into me... To those that encouraged me to try new things... To everyone who has loved me in spite of my shortcomings... To new family members and new friends... To God who has shown me so much grace... I just wanted to say thank you, I love you, and I appreciate you ❤️🫶🏽 by @onose27

Not usually one to post, but with all the birthday wishes and all the reminders that I'm officially in the final year of my 20s, I thought I'd look back at my 28th year. Anyone who knows me knows I'm prone to overthinking... And unfortunately, stress only makes it worse. Well, the last few weeks have had me stressing about a lot. Where I'm going... Where I've been. If I'm making the right decisions... If I'm living life to the fullest or if I'm just letting it pass me by. And then I started thinking that I might be wasting my life away. But looking back at these photos is a reminder of just how much joy this past year brought me. I always get self-conscious about posting myself due to insecurities or fear of vanity. But photos can be such a beautiful reminder of the beauty of life. And looking back, 28 has been pretty beautiful 😊. So, thank you 28 for all the smiles you brought me 🤗❤️. Looking forward to smiling even more now at 29.

The gig run continues, and I'm so happy it's bringing me back to All Points East! I'm thrilled to be on this stage for the third time.
