Lupine season in Iceland is absolutely beautiful, but did you know they are actually an invasive species?

They were imported to Iceland in 1945 to help the soil. Now you can literally find them everywhere in June & July. It’s wild that something so beautiful can be so invasive!

But they are gorgeous and with Skógafoss in the background? I couldn’t resist stopping to take some pics! 🪻

The bees and flies were paid actors.

Oh well. Whatever. Nevermind 🙂‍↕️

Had to do my take on this trend as I’ve been channeling this energy over the last couple months. Reminder, go to places that make you feel small and at the end of the day, do the things that make your heart happy. And F the rest!!!

Trust me on this one, do not miss the Snæfellsnes Peninsula on your trip to Iceland!

This peninsula is often overlooked due to its location and the fact that it’s not on the ring road. BUT it is well worth the visit. They often call this peninsula “little Iceland” because it really is all of the best parts of Iceland wrapped into one.

Stunning coasts, volcanoes, waterfalls, wildlife, epic views, lava fields and so much more.

Here were some of my favorite sites:
1. Kirkjufellsfoss
2. Valeria Coffee Shop
3. Ytri tunga
4. Buðakirkja
5. Arnarstapi Cliffs
And MORE!

Add this to your Iceland itinerary - you won’t regret it! 🇮🇸 and follow along for more Iceland travel tips!

You can shop in TWO continents at once in Iceland 🤯

This is Bonus Supermarket located in Hveragerði, Iceland. When the store was being built, the builders actually discovered a deep fissure, which is part of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge (AKA where North America & Europe meet!)

Instead of covering it up, they added this glass floor so visitors could come see the rift. So yes, you can *technically* be in North America & Europe at once.

I spoke with someone who lives in Iceland and she told me the tea behind this spot. The truth is, the rift is quite large and this is just one small crack in a much broader zone! So while there is more truth than what you can see here, it’s still a fun little stop.

This is also a great place to get out and stretch your legs and Bonus is an affordable supermarket where you can grab a bite to eat on the road!

📍Save this for your upcoming trip to Iceland and follow along for more Iceland travel tips!

Welcome to the youngest and last remaining active turf church in Iceland!

This is Hofskirkja, located in the south of Iceland about 30 minutes from the famous Diamond Beach.

It is super easy to miss on your drive because it perfectly blends in with the landscape but it’s worth the short stop!

Sadly, it is often closed but definitely take a few minutes to look around and you may get lucky during your visit! Btw, the mounds in the back of the church are burial mounds. Houses and buildings used to be built like this to be able to withstand the harsh Icelandic weather.

Definitely add this to your road trip list and follow along for more Iceland travel tips!

When you have this epic waterfall practically to yourself!!! 🇮🇸

This is Seljalandsfoss, one of the most famous waterfalls in Iceland, but for good reason. You can actually walk behind it and it’s SO epic. But because of its popularity and no-hike access, it becomes quite busy.

This is a reminder that the early bird gets the worm. We arrived at the waterfall just before 8 and there were maybe 2-4 more people there. Thankfully because of the midnight sun, you can really take advantage of the mornings and nights and get to popular places before the day trippers arrive.

This is also a reminder that just because something is popular, doesn’t mean it’s not worth this visit!

The goofiest and cutest little birds I’ve ever seen!

Hey, at least they don’t 💩 inside their burrows LOL

10/10 recommed seeing puffins in Iceland. Puffin season is May to August, so plan accordingly. These were taken at Dyrhólaey, right outside of Vík.

And yes, the first few photos are mine 🤍🇮🇸

The view that altered my brain chemistry.

This is Glymur Waterfall, one of Iceland’s tallest waterfalls. You must hike through a cave and cross a small river to see this view, but I promise that sounds a lot scarier than it actually is.

The trail winds through the canyon with gorgeous views all around. And the good news is that you don’t even have to do the entire loop trail to see the falls!

This is definitely a rocky and uphill hike, but so worth it. Definitely make this a stop on your roadtrip through Iceland 🇮🇸 and follow along for more Iceland travel tips.

REALLY love this for me 🫪

By far my favorite coffee shop on my Iceland trip was Valeria on the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, in the town of Grundarfjörður.

We loved it so much, we came back again the next day. Highly recommend it if you are in the area!

Can you believe this video was taken at 11:00 PM? 🌞

In Icelandic summer, the sun never really sets. That’s why they call it “midnight sun.” And my husband and I definitely took advantage of this on our trip to Iceland!

We visited landmarks late at night and even did a couple hikes. Not only is the lighting magical, but you also can have many places entirely to yourself (while everyone is sleeping!)

This viewpoint is the iconic Kirkjufellsfoss, over looking the Kirkjufell Mountain. This mountain is considered one of the most photographed places in Iceland and was also in Game of Thrones!

Follow along for more travel tips & itineraries 💌 I can’t wait to show you more of Iceland
