“Did you see what she posted?”

Yes. You saw a woman who has made mistakes. A woman who has walked through hard seasons. A woman who doesn’t have everything figured out.

But did you also see her courage?

The courage to be vulnerable. To share her testimony. To admit she hasn’t always gotten it right. To show up anyway.

I don’t share my life because I think it’s perfect. I share because I’ve seen what God can do with the broken pieces.

And if one woman reads something I’ve shared and realizes she’s not alone, then it was worth posting.

Before we criticize what someone shares, maybe we should ask ourselves if God could be using their story to reach someone else.

Less judgment. More grace. We’re all still growing. 🩷

Something hit me during my Seeds study. 🌱

Sometimes the people who have known you the longest: friends, family, coworkers, even leaders, can have the hardest time seeing who you’re becoming. They remember your mistakes, your old reactions, or a version of you that God has been working to change. And when you give your life to Jesus they believe you should be “perfect” right NOW!

But I’m learning I don’t have to convince anyone that I’ve grown.

My role is to keep planting the right seeds. To examine myself. Own my mistakes. Apologize when I’m wrong. Choose better when I know better. Guard my words. Refuse to participate in gossip and negativity; even when it comes from people I love, respect, or once looked up to. And sometimes my role is to quietly create distance so I can hear God more clearly. So when I seem quiet or distant; it doesn’t mean something is wrong, or I’m being rude! It simply means I have things I’m working through that belong to the QUIET spaces alone.

God’s role is the transformation.

Not everyone will recognize your growth, and some people may continue relating to the person you used to be. That doesn’t mean you have to keep returning to old environments, conversations, or behaviors just to maintain those relationships.

Mark’s story reminded me: a difficult chapter doesn’t get to define the whole story.
