I shore dive all year around the Cornwall coast, and take trips to Portugal. I like to take photos, talk diving, and go diving.

I've dived all over the world as a paying tourist and working instructor from Egypt to St Lucia to Thailand. And, I just love diving in Cornwall because it's amazing.

Seasonal differences keep the marine life changing. The conditions are never dull. And, the shore diving is so accessible.

Beautiful above, spectacular below.

An old, tired, mature cuttlefish. They only live about a year, then mate, and then they die only to be washed up on the foreshore to be collected by budgie owners.

They bring me so much joy when I interact with them on a dive as their tentacles semophore 'hello' or 'bugger off'. It makes me a little sad to see them so exhausted, and so privileged to be able to dive with them in the summer months.

The Wink means you are almost at Lamorna Cove. I love the views, the diving, the coffee, and the cake.

It's a great place to start a gentle hour's walk to Mousehole. Or, a more challenging walk to Lands End.

Bring change for the carpark which, I think is only a quid fifty for the first hour, double that for two, and a fiver for four hours.

Cuttlefish are feeling a bit dopey now the water temperature is starting to drop and they snuggle up in the seabed. They are a bit tricky to spot - camouflaged to blend in and lying perfectly still.

It's not great video but it is evidence that trigger fish do live in Cornwall, if you can find them.

If you want to take professional photos you'll need to invest serious money but if you want to capture some memories this works.

I dived into a 2m soup of seaweed bits and thought it was going to be a horrible dive. However, at 13m there was a crud-ocline and underneath the water was wonderful, blue, and insanely clear.

There was a pack of these dogfish, sat on the bottom, hunting small fry as they came through the murk. It was so lovely I stopped taking photos and just watched them for about 15 minutes.

Then afterwards a cappuccino in the wonderful Lamorna Cove Cafe.

Do you think anemones worry about what other anemones think of their tentacles? Or, consider tentacle extensions or colour options? Or, whether their patch of rock is better or worse than their neighbours?
No they don't because anemones are awesome and self assured without being arrogant.

I like anemones.

Baby squid just chilling in the current on a night dive in Cornwall.

I'll be honest about UK diving. The visibility isn't often more than 8m, the water temperature is rarely above 17 degrees, and the extra gear can be daunting. But is it worth it? Absolutely.
