Welcome to On the Moov! We are a project developed by UT students and alumni to aid disabled students with navigating campus. Students with different types of disabilities require support with various everyday tasks including getting to class and accessing meals. Our system consists of student helping signing up for a shift to aid a disabled student at predetermined times, thus using the power of community to expand accessibility at the University of Texas.

We’re so excited to continue growing this program and increasing awareness for accessibility needs on the UT campus!

🚨 BREAKING: On the Moov has officially filed a Department of Justice complaint against the University of Texas at Austin for systemic disability discrimination.

We’re calling out UT’s repeated failure to provide ADA-compliant restroom facilities — a violation of our rights, safety, and dignity.

Despite years of reporting these issues to university officials, no meaningful action has been taken. That ends now.

We’ve requested a formal investigation by the DOJ and mediation through the Key Bridge Foundation. We won’t stop fighting until disabled students are guaranteed the accessibility they are legally entitled to.

🚨 It has been ONE YEAR since disabled students at UT launched the movement for accessible restrooms. 🚨

Since then, we have:
• Surveyed 300+ restrooms with 60+ volunteers — finding that 56% of multi-stall and 34% of single-user restrooms do not meet ADA standards.
• Filed complaints with the DOJ, DOE, and TDLR.
• Shared testimonies of students injured, humiliated, and denied basic dignity by inaccessible restrooms.

And still… UT has done nothing.
Disabled students are forced to:
• Use the restroom with the door open.
• Risk injuries from inaccessible features.
• Wait until home to relieve themselves.

This is unacceptable at the “#1 public university in Texas.”

📢 We demand:
• Direct funding for ADA-compliant renovations.
• A timely plan to expedite UT’s 10-year ADA transition.
• Accountability through meetings with disabled students, staff, and allies.
We will not be ignored any longer.
