Yesterday I had the honor of witnessing my oldest friend get married. Chloe and Brendan I wish you a lifetime of love, happiness, laughter, and creation. Thank you for letting me witness and take part in your beautiful union.
I don’t typically cry at weddings and it’s not for a lack of excitement, happiness, or wanting. As soon as Chloe began making her way down the aisle I couldn’t contain my tears. Today is my best friend Emilie’s birthday. A chance meeting in adulthood brought us together—a time when making new friendships is notoriously “difficult,” but ours was a love at first sight. A bond that found its foundation on a love of shopping, theater, semi-new sobriety, and impending heartbreaks—grew into a love that knows no bounds. A friendship forged in unwaveringly brutal and yet loving honesty, unbreakable loyalty, and a love for each other’s hearts, not just devilish good looks and GTA bodies.
Emilie—you are my wife, my soulmate, and my best friend. With you, there is never any guessing, and that is one of many reasons I thank you for choosing to love me. To know you is to love you, and I am lucky enough that you love me back.

6 weeks of sharing my musings - long and short - real and fake - funny and other.

I am not typically someone who “gets real” on the internet (that’s what they all say). But this has been a wonderful exercise in trusting myself, believing in my talent, and not being afraid of the thoughts or judgements of others. Life’s too short to not believe in yourself.
