This Friday, April 24th, and every fourth Friday at @opalstudioseattle in West Seattle from 6:30-8pm.

This death cafe has art supplies to share or you can bring your own. Make something with your hands while the mind and heart meander 💜

Talk about death and dying and grief while in community with others. It's not a support group but it is supportive and will always have resources to share. And snacks! And @tropikaylaa 💜

The vibe I bring to the function 💖

Pushing people to stay positive in the midst of collective harm and violence doesn’t build strength, it disconnects them from their lived reality and teaches them to suppress emotion. It doesn’t cultivate resilience. It trains the nervous system to bypass pain, to silence natural responses to threat. That’s obedience disguised as strength and healing.

One thing about Opal is this: we are a values-led business, always have been. The health and safety of our community sit at the very core of what we stand for. That means we will never accept, under any circumstances, our neighbors being taken, terrorized, murdered, or disappeared by masked, fascist individuals.
