Jake, my friend, was diagnosed with Friedreich's Ataxia just before Christmas. It is an incredibly rare disease which affects his mobility, balance and coordination, and can cause sensory, sight and hearing loss. It also affects the heart. The only existing treatment does not exist in the UK as of right now, and costs £300,000. If you can donate anything to contribute to the fundraising goal of £300,000, please consider it. The disease acts very quickly, and after a certain point the treatment will no longer work. Anything you can do right now to help is much appreciated. If insufficient or surplus funds are raised, they used to support Jake's needs in accordance with Tree of Hope's charitable objectives. If, in those circumstances, all or part of the funds are unable to be used for his benefit, they will be transferred to be used for the general charitable purposes of Tree of Hope.
