Zine making with Dhoop this Sunday, 18th October, 4-6pm.
(In person and free) ✊🏽

For friends and dear ones who feel tired/guilty helpless about not being able to go to the Pr08#sts. There are many ways to engage with what's happening. We're offering this as a space to explore some of that.

'Through Zine We Dissent' is:

- A space to express the tough/harsh/complex feelings that emerge in us as we consume information on media platforms and witness the stark violence and bigotry, specifically as we practice our fundamental right to protest.

- To hold space for anger and sadness because of how chronic illness, disability or our identities(religious and otherwise) might make us step back from being on the ground or do what we want to for the cause.

- An offering to feel our way through this, the only way we can arrive at next steps of solutioning and action.

- An immersive insight into how forms of art are as valid and legitimate forms of dissent and protest as any other. There's a NEED and A SPACE for it ALL.

THE REVOLUTION HAS A SPACE AND ROLE FOR US ALL.

This is a wheelchair accessible venue.
The zine making will be followed by a soft 5min guided mediation by @daydreamerswillow (Ayera) by @open_door_collective

The Open Door Collective, in collaboration with Jyotsna Ramesh (@jojorambles ), invites you to a private screening of Maagh (The Winter Within ) by Aamir Bashir, followed by a discussion with the filmmakers.

Thus, this collaboration and offering was born out of our love for art and our commitment to engaging with the politics of art. At the heart of this collaboration is a desire to engage with what we value and care about deeply and share it with people who may care about it as much as we do.

Saying goodbye to the home that gave birth to @open_door_collective feels unreal

This space held so much life. So many conversations, strangers turning into friends, vulnerable moments, shared meals, sleepy afternoons and chaotic parties. it became so much bigger than just a house.

We’re deeply grateful for the time we got with it, and for everyone who walked through its doors and became part of its story.

But this isn’t the end of Open Door.
ODC was never just about a physical space. It was always an expression of our intention to hold space for people, connection, community, and belonging. That expression will keep evolving and taking new forms.

We’ll share more as we figure out what comes next.

Something happened at Open Door Collective, and it’s the kind of thing we hoped we’d never have to write about.

This past week, we found ourselves in a situation that left us stunned - and if you’ve ever built something tender inside a rented home, you’ll understand the kind of helplessness we’re sitting with right now.

Here’s the thing: despite being transparent with our owner about the kind of gatherings we host, despite keeping everything quiet, mindful, and well within the only boundary we were ever given… one neighbor complaint was enough to put everything at risk.

Not a conversation. Not a chance to clarify.

Just a demand for CCTV surveillance and a subtle but unmistakable squeeze that makes it impossible for us to continue.

**Running a third space inside a home is a love story… until it becomes a lesson in power.**

We want to tell you the full story, what we’re grieving, and what we’re dreaming up next.

Last weekend, we were transported. 💻🌧️
Malhaar.exe: The Rain We Make took us into a speculative future - one that felt eerily close and deeply human all at once.

Through play, poetry, and collective imagination, we found ourselves reflecting on the world we’re building (or breaking), our anxieties about tech, and the quiet hope that maybe, just maybe, we can still make it rain differently.

It was less a “game” and more a mirror: one that held our fears, curiosity, and conversations around power, technology, and the possibility of distributed futures.

A huge thank you to @booksnchai for crafting this world and guiding us through it with such tenderness and thought. 🌱

A morning of movement, connection, and queer joy. 💛

We’re so excited to host @bangalorequeertango at ODC! BQT creates a safe space for queer, trans*, non-binary, and gender-fluid folks to move, express, and try their hand at Tango.

Facilitated by Alav (they/them) and Vasvi (she/her) members of BQT who’ve been learning, teaching, and dancing tango in open roles since its beginning — this 1.5-hour session is all about flow, consent, and joy in motion.
