It’s Friday, and we’re continuing our Sharing Nights at Open Mic Coffee & Tea House from 7 to 9 PM! Bring a friend, maybe meet a new friend, or just find a little time to express yourself. Whether you’re a musician, artist, poet, singer, or someone who just wants to share how your week went, we’d love to have you. Maybe you’ve been working on something interesting and want to tell others about it. Whatever it is, you’re welcome here. We’re committed to keeping our Friday Sharing Nights going. We’re not chasing big crowds. The more the merrier, of course, but there’s something equally valuable about a small, intimate gathering where people can relax, connect, and enjoy each other’s company. So stop by tonight if you’re able. Low-key vibes, good company, and no pressure to do anything but be yourself. And if we don’t see you tonight, we’ll catch you another day. Have a great weekend, everyone! by @openmictea
Hey, for those of you who’ve had a long week, we can relate! It feels like there’s been a lot going on lately, and sometimes it’s nice to just get away from it all for a little while. This Friday is a great opportunity to get away from some of that pressure, decompress, share something that’s important to you, or connect with a few people who might just get it. We’re bringing back Sharing Nights every Friday from 7–9 PM at The Open Mic Coffee & Tea House. Bring your guitar, share some music, a story, a poem, or just come hang out and enjoy the low-key vibe. No expectations, no competition, and no judgment. Just good people sharing a little time together. Bring your good spirit. We’d love to have your company. by @openmictea

Just wanted to give everybody a heads-up—we’ve been making a lot of progress on the digital front! We’ve been partnering with a local software company to build something exciting to help individuals, creatives, and entrepreneurs, and we can’t wait to show you what we’re working on. Until then, we’re playing around with a lot of ideas. Here’s a preview of something coming soon—a new website and a new way to market and promote events. Hopefully everyone here, including all the musicians we’ve met over the years, can benefit from it. Meanwhile, we’re bringing back a low-key Sharing Night every Friday, starting October 16, from 7–9 PM. Then on Saturday, October 17, we’ve got Three to Tango—an Argentine tango trio and social dance. So bring your dance shoes! Hope to see you guys Friday night—and Saturday too! by @openmictea

🍷 🚶+ Prairie Waters Music Showcases by @openmictea
Fawn joins the Prairie Waters Music & Arts Festival this Saturday! Catch her at the Open Mic from 1:30–2:00 PM, singing a variety of genres during the Village of Antioch Wine Walk. by @openmictea
We’ve had some special moments at The Open Mic, and this was a recent one. We recommended Queens Caribbean Kitchen, a local spot just down the street that we visit often. A woman from Trinidad stopped back in while we were serving a line of customers just to tell us how much she loved the food. Soon everyone in line was asking, “Where’s Queens?” If you haven’t tried it yet, Queens is open Wednesday through Saturday, 2–7 PM. It’s worth the short walk down Main Street. Queens will also be part of the Village of Antioch’s Wine Walk this Saturday, September 26, from noon to 4 PM. Tickets are limited, so register soon (https://www.antioch.il.gov/WineWalk) if you’d like to spend the afternoon exploring downtown’s restaurants and shops. by @openmictea
We have one remaining scheduled slot during the Wine Walk segment of the Prairie Waters Music & Arts Festival this Saturday: 1:30–2:00 PM. If you’d like to perform and promote your set ahead of time, get in touch now! There may also be room for a song or two between acts, depending on the scheduled performers and how the day unfolds. If the half-hour slot stays open, we may use it for an impromptu open mic. Either way, stop by and bring your guitar—or use one of ours. No need to bring a piano; we’ve got you covered on that! ;) by @openmictea
Sometimes you just want to play records and talk about music—even if you never get around to playing your own. Come by, meet someone new, and stay for a good conversation. We’ll keep the light on. by @openmictea
