What a rough year it’s been… Justin was the nicest, most genuine friend I’ve ever had. I doubt I will ever be able to wrap my head around this. He would end conversations by saying “I want you to know that I really cherish our friendship”. I mean, who the fuck says that? Well, now sometimes I do because of him… There’s a lot of ways that he made me a better person and I will forever be grateful for the years he was in my life.

I know this one hit hard for a lot of people and we’re all still struggling to heal. He was so loved that his spirit will live on through us. There was countless times that I stood in awe as I watched him interact with other people. Anyone that got to know him, knew that his creative and athletic talents came second to his natural kindness towards others.

A couple months ago I had a dream we were hitting the powerline jump up at Stevens. Actually, he was just off to the side giving me tips on how to hold my grab longer as I threw frontside 5’s and 7’s off my toes. After I got a couple stompers, he hit it one time and threw a double backflip farther than all my landings. I was at the bottom fumbling to film it with my phone and I actually woke up to the adrenaline of having to tell him that I just blew the shot. I don’t know what to make of that, but dang I miss you homie!
