Incredibly honoured to receive a research grant from the @rbwhf to support my thesis project - Exploring the impact of group art therapy on social isolation and support for adolescent and young adult cancer patients.

This question is deeply personal to me, after years running my nonprofit project @operationart_ I’ve witnessed the powerful role that creativity can play in helping young people feel seen, connected, and empowered during their cancer journey.

A heartfelt thank you to the Foundation and to all the generous donors who make this kind of research possible. Your support is helping to build evidence for creative, compassionate approaches to mental health care in oncology settings.

Still reflecting on the beautiful day that was @operationart_ Mural Day at the Royal Brisbane & Women's Hospital, Youth Cancer Centre.

I am still amazed that I finally pulled off what once was a crazy idea into this beautiful reality, and the positive feedback it's received 💫

With the help of my team of amazing artists, we were able to transform an abandoned grassy area with a blank wall, into a vibrant space for our young cancer patients and their families to relax. Providing an opportunity to escape the clinical environments through sunshine, conversation and ART! 🌈

Thank you to all those who were involved in making it happen xx

Windows to Our World Exhibition

6-21st October, held at the Royal Brisbane & Women's Hospital main foyer

As an Artist and Registered Nurse working in Mental Health, I first hand see the imperative need for creative and therapeutic activities on the inpatient mental health wards and am honored to be this years Guest Artist.

My exhibiting series of works boldly explores the diverse landscape of human emotions and mental health.

Each piece offering a unique glimpse into my position as a Mental Health Nurse, and my depictions into the intricate and often turbulent realms of the mind.

By bringing visibility to a silenced medical condition, I invite viewers to connect with and reflect on their own emotional experiences. In turn I hope to foster greater understanding, empathy, and awareness into the multifaceted nature of mental health.
