Dr. Jordan Tarter’s Operation Kid Docs journey began as a pharmacy student after a professor introduced her to The Shalom Foundation. Safe to say…it changed her life! ❤️

Not only did she discover a passion for medical missions, she also met her husband along the way!!

Now serving as President, Jordan continues to inspire others through service, leadership, and a whole lot of heart.

In 5 days, the Operation KidDocs team screened nearly 150 patients, with 94 patients receiving ENT, general surgery, and urologic care.

But the numbers only tell part of the story.

Families walked an hour and a half to reach the clinic. Others left their homes at 2 or 3 in the morning to make it to surgery. Parents waited anxiously outside operating rooms while their children underwent procedures they had needed for months or years—care that, for many, would otherwise have remained out of reach.

Across five days, surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, medical professionals, surgical techs, and local partners worked from early mornings into long evenings. Behind every procedure was a patient, and behind every patient was a family that had made sacrifices to get them there.

For some patients, surgery meant relief from pain. For others, it meant being able to hear more clearly, breathe more easily, or return to everyday life without a condition that had gone untreated.

94 patients received surgery, but the impact extends far beyond that number—to the parents who made the journey beside them, the siblings waiting at home, and the communities they returned to.

None of it would have been possible without the families who placed their trust in the team, the local partners who made this work possible, and every person who gave their time and expertise to provide care.

Medical Mission #196 has come to an end at @centromooregt . Together with @operationkiddocs , the medical team performed 92 free surgeries in General Surgery, Urology, and Otolaryngology.

Behind every surgery is a child, a family, and a team of people working together to make care possible.

We are grateful to the doctors, nurses, volunteers, interpreters, and the Centro Moore team who gave their time and expertise throughout this week.

¡Hemos finalizado nuestra ornada médica #196! 💙

En esta jornada, junto al increíble equipo de @operationkiddocs , realizamos 92 cirugías en las especialidades de Cirugía General, Otorrinolaringología y Urología para niños y adolescentes.

Fue una semana de mucho trabajo, pero estamos muy contentos con los resultados y con todo lo que logramos juntos.

Gracias a cada médico, enfermero y enfermera, al equipo de Centro Moore, voluntarios, y a todas las personas que hicieron posible esta jornada.

Seguimos compartiendo Fe, Salud y Esperanza.

¡Llegamos al día 2 de nuestra jornada!😊

Esta semana seguimos trabajando por la niñez y adolescencia de Guatemala con cirugías en las especialidades de Otorrinolaringología, Cirugía General y Urología para niños y adolescentes de 0 a 17 años.

Nos alegra muchísimo vivir una semana más junto a las familias de nuestros pacientes y compartir este camino con el increíble equipo de @operationkiddocs , que se suma a nuestra misión compartiendo fe, salud y esperanza.

Stephanie Bosse’s experience with Operation KidDocs has been filled with remarkable moments. However, for her, the most rewarding aspect has always been reuniting her patients with their parents after recovery and experiencing their sincere gratitude, a feeling she continues to cherish.🫶

She joined Operation KidDocs because after starting her OR nurse journey in Austin working with our incredible doctor volunteers, she had hoped to get involved with our mission. Two years into volunteering and she has already made a lasting impact.
