Born and raised in Viana do Castelo in northern Portugal, @oph.ell was always drawn to music as an extension of his emotions and the reality around him. An artist by default, he naturally developed his musical sensibilitites from a young age when he discovered virtual on his dad’s computer.

His restless ambition soon took him to Lisbon where he hastly integrated himself in the local deep underground and queer scene. Since then @oph.ell really built a name for himself, scoring a residency at the iconic Kømplex, his first international gig at Aeden Berlin, and playing all over Portugal at venues such as Ministerium, Passos, Manueland & Village Underground.
Behind the decks, he has carefully consolidated his sound, blending bouncy grooves, syncopated rhythms, rich sound design and fiercely paced energy. His sets are a deep, immersive odyssey through the bolder unapologetic side of groove techno. Armed with clean technique and sharp intuiton, @oph.ell thoughtfully guides the crowd with the flick of a knob.

To confirm his amazing talent, Ophell joined @disturbtechno collective and is a resident at @komplexlisbon in Lisbon. by @oph.ell
