Happy Hoco! Lots of long hours and hard work for these girls as well as having regular competition practice each day (even if it is at 6 am). It takes a village and we are so thankful for the village we have! Our Junior, Emma Kate Taylor, has been one busy bee making sure that this homecoming was one the seniors would treasure! We can’t wait until tomorrow! 🖤💛 taken in Opp High School by @opphighcheer

It is hard to find words big enough to express what Ms. Emily Edgar meant to our school, our students, and our Opp High School cheer family. Our former superintendent was an unwavering supporter of every Opp student, and her love for this community was evident in everything she did.

Ms. Edgar was the foundation of so much of our cheer program’s success. She believed in us, supported our dreams, and reminded us of what we could accomplish through hard work. There was never a time she didn’t reach out to celebrate with us when things went well or encourage us when things didn’t go the way we had hoped. In those moments of disappointment, her words helped us find the strength to try again. She made sure we knew she was proud of us and that her belief in us went far beyond any trophy or title.

She taught us so much about hard work, perseverance, and patience. But perhaps her greatest lesson was how to love people - to see their worth, believe in their potential, and keep showing up for them. She lived those lessons, and we are better because we had the privilege of learning from her.

We will deeply miss Ms. Edgar. We will miss her encouragement, her kindness, and the comfort of knowing she was always in our corner. We will carry her example with us as we work to have that same drive, extend that same love, and believe in others the way she believed in us.

Thank you, Ms. Edgar, for everything you poured into our students and our program. So much of what we have accomplished began with your belief in us. You will forever be part of our story and our hearts.

The very best Bobcat fan. Always. 🖤💛💚 taken in Opp High School by @opphighcheer

We kicked off the first day of school, headed straight to the stadium to get ready for Friday Night Lights, and wrapped up the day with one of our favorite treats from Sprinkles. @sprinkles_at_tandc
