Start with the boring stuff.
The routine email you write over and over.
The meeting notes you have to turn into action items.
The recurring report that takes an hour every Friday.
The first draft that doesn’t need to start from a blank page.

That’s where I’d start: repetitive, predictable work that still requires too much of your time.

Then build from there.

A lot of the small businesses I talk to don’t actually have a client problem.

They have clients. They have work. Sometimes they have plenty of work.

The problem is what happens behind the scenes: information living in too many places, repetitive tasks being done manually, follow-ups relying on memory, and processes that worked when the business was smaller but haven’t grown with it.
That’s the kind of stuff I love fixing.

Better systems = more room to actually run and grow the business.

Quick test: if someone asked you for a client document from six months ago, how many places would you have to check?

Google Drive? Your desktop? Email? Slack? That folder you think you created for it?

Your files don’t need to be perfectly organized. But they should have a home.

A simple file structure + consistent naming system can save more time than you’d think — especially as your business grows.

If “I know it’s somewhere…” is a regular phrase in your business, it may be time to clean up the system.
