Grieving someone who is still alive is one feeling, but grieving someone who has/will transition is whole other feeling. Mom, our relationship was NOWHERE near perfect and most definitely an indescribable one (LOL IYKYK), but I find solace in my love for you and my desire to always want the best for you. I didn’t know it would happen like this, but God’s hands are in the midst of all of this.

This has been one hell of a past few months. From having what could have been a near-fatal accident in Atlanta back in September that I’m still healing from physically, emotionally, and mentally to now having to be the one to make the decision to pull the plug & bury you… I’m at a loss for words. S/O to my village who allowed me to cry and do what I needed to do within the past 24 hours before I got back in business mode. I’m glad Coby and I were able to be by your side as you took your last breaths. I’m glad we have each other during this and are once again, doing this together. May your soul rest, Ma. We love you by @optimistic_bre

I am honored and humbled to have been chosen as Soror of the Year from my chapter Sorors. It was also very surreal to have our National President & CEO in attendance. At a time where renouncing and denouncing are at a high, I’m reminded of my commitment to the Black community and the sisterhood that is Delta. Thank you to my chapter Sorors for seeing me and the work that has been done this past Sorority year. 30 years. One room filled with people who have loved me through different versions and seasons of myself. 🖤

Community has always meant so much to me, but seeing mine come together in one room that night was something I’ll never forget. Different chapters, different connections, all sharing the same space — laughing, dancing, celebrating and simply showing up.

I’ve spent so much of my life showing up for the people I love, and that night I got to stand still long enough to see just how much love has been built around me.

This wasn’t just a birthday party. It was a reminder that a life well lived is also a life lived in community.

My 20s taught me how to carry a lot. My 30s are about deciding what’s actually mine to carry.

Through it all, I never lost me.

The laugh. The style. The energy. The ability to find joy even when life got heavy.

I spent a lot of my 20s becoming who life needed me to be.

Somewhere along the way, I learned there was room to simply be me, too.

Before I celebrate where I’m going, I have to honor what it took to get here. 🔥

I’ve walked through some fires I never thought I’d have to face. Some changed me. Some strengthened me. Some took pieces of me I’ll never get back.

But somehow, I kept walking.

Barefoot. Grounded. Still standing.

I don’t enter 30 untouched by what I’ve been through. I enter it knowing I made it through.

The fire didn’t end my story. It prepared me for what comes next.
