From setup to showtime.

A look back at some of the best moments from Friday’s Optix Live VIP screening of Erasure 2197 where independent film, creative talent and meaningful connections came together in Las Vegas.

This is what happens when vision meets execution.

More moments. More stories. More Optix Live to come.

Horror proves you don’t need a massive budget to make a massive impact. 🎬🩸

Contained locations, smaller casts, practical effects, and creative freedom give independent filmmakers the opportunity to turn limitations into unforgettable storytelling.

Sometimes the scariest ideas come from thinking smaller. 👀🎥 by @optixfest

Thank you to the Las Vegas 48 Hour Film Project for inviting me to speak about OPTIX and what we are building for the local film community.

Congratulations to every filmmaker who took on the challenge, brought a story to life under pressure, and shared their work with the room. And a special congratulations to all of the award winners.

Las Vegas has real creative momentum. We’re proud to support the people, projects, and events helping move it forward.

Such fun going a few rounds with the awesome cast of @streetfightermovie! 💥
Along with @andrewkojigram, @ncentineo & @callina.liang we also sat down with the rest of the all-star cast who were all so excited about the movie and bringing the popular video game to the big screen.
Can’t wait to share our exclusives and be sure to check out the movie when it hits theaters October 16! 🎥🍿

Quick test shot from last night. Everything was locked, loaded, and ready to go just before the doors opened for OPTIX Live at SAHARA Las Vegas.

Months of relationships, planning, collaboration, and creativity all coming together for one night celebrating independent filmmaking and the talented team behind Erasure 2197.

Then the room filled up and the energy completely changed.

More to come on this… taken in Sahara Las Vegas by @optixfest

🎬 Your limitations can make your film better.

More money, a bigger crew, and better gear can make production easier—but independent filmmaking has always been about finding creative ways to work with what you have.

Small budget? Write around locations you already have access to.
Small crew? Build your shots around what your team can execute well.
Limited gear? Focus on lighting, composition, and story before chasing more equipment.

Constraints force filmmakers to problem-solve, adapt, and sometimes find ideas they never would have considered otherwise.

Independent filmmaking isn’t about having everything. It’s about knowing what to do with what you have.
