2026 Recording Residency award goes to @cowboycatmom for her project of soulful folk music called @_maremusic_ There were over 50 applications this year and the board deliberated for quite a while but ultimately Gabriella's music and intention floated to the top. The community at @rlvoracleart @rancholindavistaarts is excited to have her with us for the month of September and to see what beautiful recorded music she brings to the world. by @oracle_recording_studio

Get your preorder in! $700 for a mono unit, $1,200 for a stereo pair. $100 per unit preorder deposit. Only 12 available and it'll be first deposits paid until they're gone. Units will be ready in early August. This year the units will have the more late 50s styling than last years' batch (see the electric eel mono unit in the photos). It's been a joy to hear how last year's buyers have enjoyed their mic Pres. Tommy at the Goon Lagoon even gave them an official name this year "RTD" (Roberts' Torturing Device). Each all-tube unit has XLR in with switchable 25db pad, polarity reverse and 48v phantom power with a two different switchable negative feedback values to control saturation/distortion levels. Also features a 1/4" TS line in patch point to process pre-recorded material, 1/4" TS output. @krazoblique @electric_eel_recording @tylercannata @thegeorgewhite @johnmarkhanson @soapcheese @dazed_on_drones @dominic.armstrong @farmer_haans by @oracle_recording_studio

Digital stemming now available by request. I've always been anti digital hybrid here at the studio but there has been increasing need for records to be stemmed because of label requirements so my neighbor and dear friend @alexmoondaze decided to invest in a conversion system that can work with the setup here. So if you've wanted to work analog but are turned off by the archaic mixing process or if you want to just live-track your rhythm section to tape and do the rest of your record at home or even if you want to send your digital stems to tape and mix analog, all of those things are now possible thanks to Alex. by @oracle_recording_studio

New release today! I'm really excited that @rosalimusic has already released a track from their session here in January. They were such a joy to work with with and it was really inspiring to watch @krazoblique working here as a producer. I feel like this track really highlights his ability to unleash a lot of creativity in a good direction, in this case toward a Rolling Stones sort of sound. @jimbwardschroeden plays a hundred awesome licks, @davidkennethnance had a great idea to play an open tuned Nashville guitar with a slide and also to sing the song title through a talk box, Kevin Donahue has great swing and a fantastic collection of interesting percussion options and Rosali's delivery seemed both effortless and flawless with lyrics that really hit a sweet spot here on tax day 2026. I am really excited to see the full length record out in the world in the near future. by @oracle_recording_studio

Sunday Handwound Pickups does Fender pickups better than Fender in the 21st centruy. I've almost always swapped out stock pickups in the studio for Seymour Duncan Antiquity pickups except for these two instruments. Up until this year they both had Fender Custom Shop pickups but I never felt crazy about their tone especially the cheap sounding harsh high end. Wanting to try something other than the antiquities in these two I stumbled upon an independent pickup maker from Georgia @sundayhandwound and decided to send him a message explaining what was bugging me about the custom shop pickups and what sort of sound I was hoping for. He is passionate, personable and incredibly helpful and best of all he makes a wonderful product at a very reasonable price. I vibe with him and what he does so hard that I hope you just find a reason to buy a set of pickups from him. by @oracle_recording_studio

“MONOTONOUS MOUTH” recorded at the beautiful @oracle_recording_studio in Oracle, AZ with beautifuller Austin Owen.

Me and Kyle and Jeremy and Jorge drove down to Oracle to record a few songs and document the whole process with @trevvorriley . We recorded 3 songs at Oracle Recording Studio between shows in Flagstaff and Tucson. We were blown away by Austin’s studio, gear, and hospitality. We’re hoping to spend a lot more time there if the opportunity ever arises. taken in Oracle, Arizona by @oracle_recording_studio

@pijamapiyama released a new full length! If you like Latin music and guitar music this is a must. Jonny is an educated jazz musician who has dedicated himself to making really interesting cumbia music and I have had the sincere pleasure of getting to work with him for a few years now. This record was a departure from the band's typical approach. Jonny spent a ton of time getting his Roland 404 to behave like a strange digital drummer that could pull off his psychotic ideas. He did a bunch of pre-production that we dumped to tape and then built guitars, synths and vocals on top of. We reamped strange blips and bloops into the dining room and got experimental with mixing. It was (and always is) a total treat. Congrats to Pijama Piyama on another excellent release. by @oracle_recording_studio

@myrband has realeased their debut EP that was recorded during the 2025 studio residency. They had a dreamy month of daily rehearsals and writing/arrangement sessions with regular visits to the pool and even a nice camping trip out at peppersauce canyon. We spent the last 5 days of the month recording and mixing this EP. Tonight is their release show at Gracie's in Phoenix. Go show some love and give this EP a listen. by @oracle_recording_studio
