We’re back - with some new faces!

Join us for a day of Tarot readings, workshops, and talks exploring the Death card’s themes of endings, remembrance, and new beginnings.

Cross the threshold on Saturday, 31 October, for a special Death card edition of Talk & Tarot, hosted by Lee Hendricks of @lightnudges and myself.

The Death card invites us to explore endings, change, remembrance, and what may emerge when we let go. Through conversation, symbolism, creativity, and connection, we’ll make space for both the tender and transformative sides of this often misunderstood card.
We’ll gather at Wandsworth Quaker Meeting
House, the oldest meeting house in Greater London. Tucked away from the bustle of Wandsworth High Street, its historic building and secluded burial ground offer a thoughtful setting for a day centred on remembrance and renewal.

Whether you’re new to Tarot or know the cards well, you’re welcome to join us. The afternoon begins with a Talk & Tarot discussion, followed by opportunities for personal readings, activities, and time to connect with our readers and fellow guests.

We’ll close the afternoon with a moment of remembrance in the meeting house’s burial ground, making space to honour those who have gone before us and reflect on what we carry forward.

And after Talk & Tarot, stay longer for a special evening talk with Dr Erica Canela for anyone curious to learn more about the Quakers and their history. Erica is a public historian and the author of Zealous: A Darker Side of the Early Quakers. She’ll bring the stories of the movement’s earliest members to life in a place where Quakers have gathered for centuries and will be available to sign copies of her book after the talk.

The Chicken of Fate loves a @nationaltrust date!

We ventured to @smallhythe_placent for a Pamela Coleman Smith a.k.a Pixie pilgrimage, for this is where she produced a lot of the art work for the deck we’ve all come to love! She stayed with the prolific, Mother/Daughter duo, Ellen Terry and Edith Craig. It was magnificent to learn more about the self-made actress and her family.

1. Chicken of Fate on the path to Edith’s house whom she shared with two fellow queer creatives. They’re even buried together, all three in the church yard.

2. Chicken of Fate making a wish

3. Chicken of Fate in the threshold of Ellen’s home

4. Chicken of Fate chilling, admiring the apple trees.

5. Chicken of Fate on the stage Edith built in the barn, after her mother’s death

6. Chicken of Fate in an alcove by the chapel, hesitant to enter fearing her pagan ways may cause her feathers to singe somewhat

7. Although Chicken of Fate can of course fly, she did eventually enter on foot and was met with calm and tranquility in the little place of worship

Many more adventures to come, home skillets! by @oraclefausta

Had the best time last week @allthingsfungifestival thanks to the incomparable @ley_loosh

There was so much community and nerding out on ecology and all things funghi.

Leyla was there to live paint and it was so much fun watching as she developed the piece throughout the days.

Opened up my heart to commune with more trees, take some introvert time and dance by fires - also, mushrooms are insanely cool. 🍄🍄‍🟫🍄🍄‍🟫🍄 by @oraclefausta

Spring - Summer Solstice - Lughnasadh and beyond!

Green lawns and lavender loops
Sparkling entrances
And artistic freedom
Cemented to walls
We danced in the tate, till they kicked us out
And threw our ribbons in the air,
with a devilish flare at Pride
Went on shopping expeditions
To frame the craft
Took lime bike broomsticks
And the chicken of fate, could swear she could fly
Come into my office,
Let’s let the fates decide at the Satanic Flea Market
Furry friends who like cucumber
Over a pedigree chew
Hello from the magician’s garden
Let’s commune in mystic dream worlds
Long term love and partnership,
In the golden hour
We pad the ground with the
Beat in our feet
And collectively, made sand
Wrapping it up
With a sunset gelato
In the place I call home by @oraclefausta
