Well what a splendid day it’s been after quite a few years out of the saddle I journeyed over to the idyllic little Sussex village of Hope in the valley near to Lewes and went of hacking trotting and galloping over the stunning Sussex countryside. Just wonderfully invigorating good for the spirit and a lovely boost for my self confidence and self esteem as I had wondered recently if I was still up to riding properly galloping etc and today answered that perfectly . If you have been out of the saddle for a while and are looking to have a go at seeing if your still up for it I can heartily recommend ex jockey Ray Goldstein’s wonderful riding school where I was treated with great empathy and lovely friendliness by Ray Theresa and his lovely staff leading to one of the most enjoyable mornings I have had for a long time . Thank you Ray Theresa and the other two ladies who rode out with me keeping an eye on this old codger . The biggest thank you I save to the last and that’s for the magnificent Solly my lovely Mount who took great care of me and didn’t put a foot wrong . by @orafferrty

Hey Jude you saved our butts again I’m at a loss to understand why the manager starts Rice whom he knows to be ill I’m at a loss to understand why he starts Madueke who loses possession every time he is put under any pressure and whose attempts at crosses normally go straight out for a goal kick . I’m
A huge fan of Harry Kane but he just didn’t turn up tonight which we are all entitled to an off night but unfortunate that it was the WC quarter final . I understand that the conditions were testing and I’m sure I wasn’t the only fan seeing Harland uncharacteristically looking exhausted and in need of an inhaler before he came off . I am still of the opinion that in form Harry Maguire would have been a huge asset for England and his commanding presence is sorely missed . Unless Saka is still carrying an injury it’s bonkers leaving him on the bench in favor of dash here dash there but never finish just loses the ball Madueke . I thought Spence once again played brilliantly yet why take oreily off and not Stones . God loves a tryer but bless us and save us how is Eze in the line up ? Two matches left are we going to see proven goal scores Toney And Watkins who have played brilliantly this season get a run out ? I certainly rate Watkins a lot higher than Madueke I wonder what other folk feel . Once again the brilliance of Jude and Pickford making fabulous saves after terrible defensive errors have saved our Bacon bring on Switzerland whom I feel can beat a weary Argentina and we are one step from the final certainly because of good fortune rather than great management . By the way St Jude is the patron Saint of lost causes …… by @orafferrty

Once again FIA completely screw up with their muddled mixed up messages “safety cars coming in “A few seconds later “safety cars coming out” such an inept amateur shower completely creating a horrendous anti climax to what was a great afternoon’s racing until FIA got involved . by @orafferrty

What a warrior probably the most entertaining match this season … are you watching Arsenal no stupid passing out from the back just great end to end football from two teams playing at the top of their game Carrick now has more points than any other manager since he took over in January and Brentford’s manager has silenced his critics . by @orafferrty
