Its kind of hard to market myself because I don’t neatly fit into one niche. I write, direct, and edit short narrative films of different genres, create music videos (usually rock/metal), and do fun experimental projects, which are usually psychedelic. Also I’m a generalist videographer and editor who’s worked in corporate, ad agencies, events, and entertainment. So what does that make me? I’ll just say I’m a filmmaker. When @gavsheavilycurated told me a year ago he was creating a festival and wanted me to do some video work for it, I was intrigued. I could tell he had a vision for this thing. We filmed band intros hosted by this goat character he created with a custom mask.

Between the videos we made, plus live visuals from @liquidlightlab and physical tickets (feels like a relic now), Gavin really went the extra mile to make @inthekeyofdoom an experience.

Also if you told me 12 years ago when I first saw @bongripperdoom that I'd be doing video work connected to them, I would have said you were crazy.

Update on my film The Epilogue: the picture lock is in and the color grade is done! Thanks to @YeahColorHouse for the excellent work! Now only sound + music is left to go, and the film will be done.

I’m incredibly excited for this to be finished. The climax is basically a music video. It almost becomes an abstract film for a moment so I want to show that off here but not reveal too much.

Fun Fact: The Bottle is actually a remake. Back in 2012, me and a few college friends made a film in a weekend. We came up with the concept on the first night and shot it all the next day. While I liked what we did, it was haphazardly done and I felt like it could be better. I really felt like the story had potential. Then after years on and off trying to get a new version off the ground, I decided to jump all in on it since it was the simplest film among a few other stories I've had floating around. We changed a few things, added a few elements, and overall made it darker.

It's always useful as a creative to look back on what you've made or even ideas that were previously scrapped and approach them with a new perspective. Maybe you were on to something but didn't have the ability or foresight to realize what it could be.

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, here is the poster for my upcoming short film, The Epilogue, which explores everything beautiful and messy about love and relationships. Its festival run will begin later this year.

After a festival run of nearly 2 years, The Bottle is finally done its theatrical run. 13 screenings at 10 festivals in 4 different states. Definitely an interesting range of fests, you never know what you’re gonna get with the settings of the projection and the sound. At one screening (that shall not be named), the film stopped right before the climax (video included at the end)!

This film is my return to narrative filmmaking after a while and the first actual festival run I’ve done. It was great to see it at different venues throughout the Mid-Atlantic and meeting awesome people. I’m really proud of the film and the team behind it and we are continuing that momentum with our upcoming film, The Epilogue.

I have a confession to make. I really don’t like being on set (and I call myself a director?). Everything has to be done in a limited amount of time, money is on the line, and redoing anything after the fact would be a gargantuan task. I prefer the freedom of writing and editing, where I can really take my time. But being on set with this film was really enjoyable actually. Still a lot of pressure, but we did a ton of pre-production and I cannot give this cast and crew enough credit, having the right balance of professionalism and fun. We are tinkering away at this film now and getting the edit down. The Epilogue: coming to film festivals in 2026!
