For seven consecutive weekends, an upstairs room in Aundh kept filling with people gathering for theatre.

What began quietly in April as a collaboration between Orange Reason and The Orange Art & Book Cafe @theorange_pune slowly became something unusual.

Forty seats.
A cozy performance studio in a café.
Contemporary drama, romantic comedy, literary horror, and audiences sitting inches away from actors.

Over seven consecutive weekends, every performance in the Summer of Theatre series played to a full room.

At a time when intimate independent theatre spaces are becoming rarer, audiences in Pune kept returning — not to an auditorium, but to a small room built on closeness, conversation, atmosphere, and live performance experienced up close.

Some came for theatre.
Some discovered theatre for the first time.
Many returned with friends the following weekend.

The Director-Led Acting Lab by @sumedhsarojini returns to Pune on 10 & 11 October.

A two-day, practical acting workshop in Pune where you will:

A packed house. Two people on a phone line. And an audience that laughed, listened, remembered — and gave Riya & Prem so much love.

From our very first show, Missed Connections has found audiences who have stayed with it, talked about it, and carried something of it home. Every show since opening night has sold out. And this journey has now taken us through nearly 17 performances.

We’re deeply grateful for every person who has sat across from Riya & Prem and made this little world feel so alive. ❤️

Last show of the season❤️One last time before Riya & Prem go quiet for a while.

Missed Connections has now crossed 17 sold-out shows — Always SOLD OUT since the opening night and somewhere along the way, it became more than a play people came to watch.

People have laughed with them.
Cried with them.
Fallen a little in love with them.

And then, sometimes weeks later, we’ve received messages from people telling us they’re still thinking about the play — about a moment, a conversation, a feeling, or perhaps their own missed connection.

The reviews have been beautiful. The audience has been even more so.

After several editions of practical, scene-based actor training, the Acting Lab with Sumedh Sarojini is back on 12 & 13 September.

This is a two-day acting workshop in Pune where you learn by doing: build a scene from scratch, explore character, intention and relationships, rehearse, experiment, receive direction and coaching, and perform.
