What a night! More than 300 students, families, staff, and community members celebrated an Abundance of Possibilities at our Third Celebration of Schools.

From cheer and mariachi to our culinary students’ delicious dinner and performances from our youngest scholars, our students truly shined.

Our OUSD scholars and families celebrated National Walk & Roll to School Day by walking, biking, and scooting to school. It is a fun way to promote healthy habits, active transportation, and connection with our community.

McPherson Magnet School’s 8th grade scholars put science and engineering into action as part of their PLTW Flight and Space elective. From designing and building hot air balloons to exploring buoyancy and the laws of motion, these scholars are learning by doing and preparing for their next challenge: building gliders and exploring the physics of flight.

This morning, the GRIP program at Handy brought mentors and mentees together for a breakfast filled with introductions, conversation and excitement for the year ahead.

GRIP (Gang Resistance and Intervention Program) connects our scholars with caring adult mentors who provide guidance, encouragement and positive support to help students build strong relationships, make healthy choices, and explore opportunities for success.

A big thank you to the Orange Police Department and our Office of Student and Community Services for their partnership and continued commitment to supporting our students and school campuses through mentorship and meaningful community connections. by @orangeusd
