The McLaren P1 GTR is a highly exclusive, track-focused version of the McLaren P1, produced in a limited run of just 40 units. It was developed by McLaren's Special Operations (MSO) division and launched in 2015 as a celebration of the 20th anniversary of McLaren's victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans with the F1 GTR.

Key Features:

1. Powertrain: The P1 GTR features a hybrid powertrain combining a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 engine with an electric motor. This setup produces a combined output of 986 horsepower (83 more than the road-going P1), allowing for blistering performance on the track.

2. Performance: With its massive power output, the P1 GTR can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in around 2.4 seconds, with a top speed limited to around 217 mph. The car's downforce and aerodynamics are significantly improved for better cornering and stability at high speeds.

3. Design: The P1 GTR has an aggressive design that enhances its aerodynamic performance. It comes with a massive fixed rear wing, a low front splitter, and revised bodywork to improve airflow and cooling. The car is 50mm lower and 80mm wider than the standard P1.

4. Weight Reduction: Extensive use of carbon fiber and other lightweight materials reduce the overall weight of the P1 GTR compared to the standard P1. This contributes to its razor-sharp handling and faster lap times.

5. Exclusive Ownership Program: Owners of the P1 GTR were offered an elite ownership experience, which included access to McLaren's specialized driving programs. This allowed them to drive the car on some of the world’s most famous racetracks under the guidance of professional drivers and engineers.

6. Track-Only Vehicle: Originally, the P1 GTR was intended to be a track-only car, meaning it wasn't street legal. However, some owners have had their cars converted for road use by companies like Lanzante, further adding to the exclusivity.
