Didn’t think I documented my life enough in August but looking back, I’m grateful I tried.

Started the month with a very spontaneous decision to start a course on event management… maybe spontaneous is rather untrue because I have always loved event management, and I have done this unofficially officially for a while now. I just finally sat down and decided it was time to be a professional at it.

So yes, finally starting this with @busybeeeventsng and it’s been a really insightful experience so far.

Attended @amplifylive.io and it was one experience I’m really grateful I did.

One thing that really stood out for me was how much they went beyond the fun and glamour of live events and actually talked about the business, finance and realities of working in the industry. As someone who’s getting more serious about event management, I found that really valuable.

Leading the campaign/creative direction of one of the campaigns for my company, with @biggestgroove_ and his team making the shoots such an easy process..

Wrapping it up soon and I can’t wait to share more here.

Being on the other end of the camera is not exactly my favourite place to be but anyhoo 😂

If I was asked to mention a time I was really, really happy this month, I’d point at this picture....

6 years ago, I started this journey unsure and hopeful. 6 years of learning lessons beyond the classroom. 6 years of growing through delays I never planned for.

COVID and ASUU strikes happened. Time stretched longer than expected but through it all, the grace of God kept me going.

I still don’t know how I juggled being a student and working for 4 of those years but somehow, God made it work!

I want to taste Italian pasta made by someone’s grandmother in Italy, not the Lagos restaurant remix that we are all pretending is the real thing.

I want to try kimchi in a Korean restaurant that is truly in Korea, not the ones here that taste like someone Googled the recipe and hoped for the best.”
