With the signature cast stone arch now set in place, the weight has officially been lifted—both literally and figuratively. From here, we’re pushing full steam ahead to wrap up this one-of-a-kind exterior, where every cast stone detail helps bring the vision to life.

Foundations are complete and rammed earth wall construction begins soon! The subtle radii of the walls, the rhythm of the fluted texture and the warmth of the concrete pigment are dynamic. We wanted to create tactile surfaces which invite interaction - I feel we're on the right track.

For the New Field Center - the cement stabilized rammed earth (CSRE) mockup is installed on top of the foundation wall to complete the assembly. Nearly every critical detail is represented in some way.

The rebar dowling and continuous integral insulation between CSRE and concrete, anchor bolt placement to receive the mass timber roof structure, and continuous integral nailer which receives the curtain wall.

We also tested pigment strategies, reviewed edge chamfer detailing, cold joint and tie hole locations, as well as the cast-in signage.
