marathon debut 🌟world major debut🌟 and I got to do it in the city I was born in 🥹 happy medal monday 🏅

By the time my corral started, conditions were turning from yellow to RED, legs were cramping but I still managed to make it to mile 21 feeling like I could make it through! Things took a turn when I started having asthmatic symptoms, no inhaler, with 5 more miles to go 😳

With the help from @stlruncrew I was able to get access to an inhaler and more to help me make it to the finish line 🏁 I’m grateful for everyone who helped me along the way. The love we received from the of runners from Chicago @peace_runners77 to Miami, Atlanta, Dallas, LA and beyond was overwhelming ❤️‍🔥 Every mile message that was sent to me, kept me going.

And on that final mile, hearing my daughter tell me how proud she was of me? That carried me home. 🥹❤️

We ALL finished in the heat, made memories, conquered the course, and ran for something bigger than ourselves 🙏🏾 I’m so proud of every runner who crossed that finish line. WE DID THAT and there’s no place I’d rather be ❤️‍🔥🏅@ChiMarathon owes me nothing!

Medal Monday 🏅 This weekend was about so much more than a birthday 5K. Seeing my vision come to life was the best birthday gift I could’ve asked for 🌹

Even after a busy weekend, people woke up at an ungodly hour on a Sunday morning to run, walk, celebrate, volunteer, donate, and cheer me on. The support I felt was overwhelming, and I’m deeply grateful.

One of the most meaningful parts of the day was seeing several people run or walk their very first 5K ever. Knowing this event helped create that opportunity and watching people challenge themselves, cross the finish line, and celebrate what they accomplished was incredibly special.

Growing up, I was often put into the box of being “the smart one.” While I always knew I was creative, I didn’t feel that side of me was fully seen. As an adult, I’ve worked hard to build a life that reflects who I truly am, and this event felt like a celebration of that journey.

I called it a Cyberpunk 5K, but looking back at the photos, it’s giving Solarpunk 🌳🦾 and honestly, that feels even more aligned with who I am: a future rooted in community, creativity, optimism, health, and possibility.

This run/walk also supported a great cause! Together, we raised $1,775 for Oasis for Orphans in Chicago ❤️‍🔥 over 75% of my fundraising goal ❤️‍🔥 for the Chicago Marathon. We’re so close!

Most importantly, I got to share this experience with my daughter by my side. Being able to show her that she can dream big, create boldly, and become whoever she wants to be means everything to me.

Thank you to everyone who supported, celebrated, donated, volunteered, and showed up. You made this event more meaningful than I could have imagined.

A huge shoutout to @nettysjuicery for providing the best cold-pressed juices in St. Louis for the event, and to @amazinggraceultrasound for their generous donation and sponsorship. Your support helped make this day possible.

And a special thanks to @stlruncrew and @runitbacktrackclub for introducing me to a community of people who remind me every day that movement is better together. 🩶

this trip reminded me that the more creative, curious, and unapologetic I allow myself to be, the more aligned life feels ❤️‍🔥
