Our stories belong on stage. 🇸🇻🎭 Join Orgullo Salvi DMV for an evening of theater and comunidad at Somewhere Over the Border!

Inspired by the true story of a Salvadoran mother’s journey to the United States, this musical reimagines The Wizard of Oz through a story of family, sacrifice, friendship, and hope—with cumbia, boleros, and more. 💙

What a wonderful experience attending yesterday’s screening of the short film District of Pupusas! 🎬

The film offers such an interesting perspective on pupusas, DC culture, and the rich history and contributions of the Salvadoran community in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.

With approximately 300,000 Salvadorans living in the DMV area, the Salvadoran community is an essential part of our region’s identity, culture, and history. From food and traditions to entrepreneurship and community building, Salvadorans have helped shape the DMV in so many meaningful ways.

A special thank you to Professor Ana Patricia Rodríguez for hosting this wonderful event at the University of Maryland and creating space to celebrate and share these important stories!

I highly encourage everyone to check out this film and keep an eye out for upcoming screenings! 🎬✨

Yesterday at Fiesta DC was such a memorable time! 🇸🇻❤️

We were so happy to share this special moment with our Salvadoran community. A heartfelt thank you to @dendry_aguilar and Movimiento Cultural Salvadoreño DMV for the invitation and for giving us the opportunity to be part of the Salvadoran delegation.

We were proud to represent our community and it was even more special to have Emma Torres and Arianna Jones with us representing the Salvadoran Selecta. 🇸🇻⚽️💙

One of the highlights for us was getting to see Los Hermanos Flores perform live for the very first time!

Even the rain couldn’t stop the fun and good times! 🌧️🙌 We enjoyed a beautiful day filled with music, culture, community, and so much Salvadoran pride.

¡Que viva El Salvador y nuestra comunidad Salvadoreña! 🇸🇻

Today, we proudly celebrate Salvadoran Independence Day! 🇸🇻💙🤍

A celebration of our culture, our food, our traditions, and the incredible community that keeps them alive from generation to generation.

We are so grateful to have the opportunity to celebrate and promote Salvadoran culture throughout the DMV and to create spaces where our community can come together, connect, share traditions, and celebrate our roots.

Today is a reminder of the beauty of where we come from, the strength of our community, and the importance of continuing to create spaces where our culture can be celebrated and shared.

Happy Salvadoran Independence Day! Here’s to our roots, our culture, and our community. 🇸🇻
