Today, Future Female Scholars Co-President & Origami For Good Co-founder Vivian Liu (@vivianhliu) attended the United Nations High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development at UN Headquarters as a Youth Advocate with the UN Major Group for Children and Youth (@majorgroupcy). 🇺🇳💓 HLPF is the UN’s central platform for reviewing progress on the 2030 Agenda, and this year’s forum takes an in-depth look at SDGs 6, 7, 9, 11, and 17, with 36 countries presenting Voluntary National Reviews during the ministerial segment. Highlights from the day included the morning session in Conference Room 4 opening with Messages from the UN Environment Assembly, regional perspectives on SDG implementation, and “Powering Participation: Youth2030 and the Pact in Action” hosted by the UN Youth Office. Being in these rooms is a reminder that youth voices belong at every table where decisions about our future are made. Vivian created both her projects with youth (FFS w/ Claire Wang, who had a personal tie to education access & OFG w/ Thyra Foronda, who used origami as a tool for mental health). Also, grateful to @ypsforum and @caleblnyc! by @origami.forgood
Thank you @khou11 for welcoming our co-founder Vivian (@vivianhliu) to share Origami for Good, the organization she and Thyra (@_thyraf) built to spread kindness one fold at a time, and for creating space to talk about the importance of AAPI history. 🌷 If you’re new here, welcome to Origami For Good!
